This bass, Jose Vam Damme in this version of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, comes out half-tuned (tenor tipe) and his singing is perfect. In all the other versions of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony the basses sing the "ofreunde nichs diese tone" part wrong and ruin the work completely, but here I realize that in this single version from 1977 the "ofreunde" by Jose Van Damme It is very well sung with the full extension of the "O" as it should be and it is similar to the other version of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony composed by Alexander Rahbary with the BRTN Philharmonic of Brussels where another version of the ofreunde comes out with a soft tone but as baritone Marcel Rosca and hearing that version and this version of Beethoven's ninth symphony is something very glorious and spectacular and I have no words to describe such a beautiful work. In other versions of this music the basses or baritones tend to be out of tune in this part so the work loses meaning and so far I have heard 3 versions of Beethoven's ninth symphony with an excellent Ofreunde - attenuated tenor type as it should be and those 3 are performed by Karajan 1977, Alexander Rahbary BRTN and Andre Previn Royal Philharmonic Orchestra
