My name is Yoyoka, I'm a 10 year old drummer from Japan.
I have a lot of respect for Neil Peart❣️
I am sorry he has gone to heaven, but I would like to dedicate a cover of this wonderful song to him🥁

She made two appearances in The Ellen DeGeneres Show in LA in January and May 2019 and was praised by Dave Grohl from Foo Fighters. Also, the first overseas live at the long-established live house "Whisky A Go Go" in Los Angeles was a great success.
In April 2019, she was selected as Newsweek Japan's "100 Japanese people respected by the world", the youngest in history.
At the age of eight, she made endorsement contract with drum makers Pearl and VIC FIRTH,as the world's youngest, and also made endorsement contracts with Zildjian, CYMPAD and DW.
At the Pearl booth of the world's largest musical instrument show "NAMM Show" held in Anaheim in 2020, she performed as the youngest female, only Japanese drummer.
The impact of "Yoyoka" continues to spread to the world.

It seems like a natural progression to me. She started with Bonzo and mastered his patterns, then she figured out Steward Copeland's insanity. Neal Peart seemed like a logical peak to strive for. While she killed this song, I'd love to see her tackle some of the more challenging drum parts from Rush. I think she can do it!

Living inside the music is a precise description of her playing. I’ve used different language to describe that about her. It’s like she’s dancing to the music but using drums instead. With all due respect to Neal Peart who was, and still is one of my favorite drummers. RIP But I cannot imagine him playing this well at age 10. Yoyoka is phenomenal. A force of nature, a human metronome that is always in the pocket. We love you in Savannah, GA. Yoyoka. The fun and joy you have playing is absolutely contagious. The most beautiful thing about you besides your drumming is the fact that you are an awesome human being . Congrats to your parents for doing such a great job. Keep having fun and please don't ever change !!!!!

I remember the first time I saw this little squirt YEARS ago when her channel started. I told my daughter "Watch this kid...She's gonna be playing YYZ someday and killing it." It just happened and it's oddly surreal to see Yoyoka 2 feet taller and murdering this song after Neil's unfortunate passing. Years later and I'm still trying to wrap my brain around this young lady's talent.

Yes, the facial+bodily expressions. It's so hard to describe, but every part of her being is expressing itself, radiating effortlessly. She's there, but in another way, she's not there. It's like she's enjoying being the conduit between an invisible source and the drum set; without thought, without any resistance or concern. Everything just unfolds as it should, with explosive power and impeccable timing; and she delights in the phenomena as much as we delight in her.
