I don't think this really works on an infinite blank plane. You can't really get ahead of people and cut them off, so the only reason people die is because they mess up all on their own. If you do this again you definitely need to play in a much smaller arena, possibly with obstacles, so you can actually force other people to mess up.

Exactly. Tron can't work in that much sheer raw amount of Space, especially when Trailmakers has no options for a "Tron Line" that can persist throughout a Round.

@@Alexander-qi6od Well the map is really really large, starting in a corner would still have the same issue for 2 directions, and based on how they are spread the one in the corner or the 2 going toward the wall would probably gone each time in the same direction away from the wall toward the middle of the map... So I don't think that would have changed much.

Not being able to overtake people, and being so slow makes this lack the adrenaline of the movie scenes, for a futur rendition having a small boost every 10 to 30 seconds would be good, just enough to overtake someone. And using two alternating concrete dispensers would allow to go much faster, maybe 80MPH for tighter walls than in this video, and the boost takes you to about 100MPH maximum or so.

I found that 2 dispensers, with .14 duration and pause, one with a .14 delay works well at 100 mph. Anything less and it can get a bit buggy and sometimes leave holes, .14 seems to be perfect at not leaving big holes or having the barriers fly into the atmosphere. I also added a speed sensor to cap speed to 100. I also unintentionally made it so the vehicle I made will go to max speed if it gets over 100 and I let go. As other's have stated, walls or obstacles would definitely help spice up the map a bit, just so you can't run in a straight line forever.

I think last time you guys (might have been scrapman's old group) used a dedicated tron map with walls, and having a smaller space makes a HUGE difference. Jumping/boosting is always fun. I also wonder if you can double up on the concrete dispensers so you can drive at 100 mph?

You should definitely get a speed sensor so the walls only start when your over 40 and under 50 so you could add a boast that maximise at 60 so the walls stop but when your back down to 50 they start again and have a 10 second cool-down or a maximise of 3 every round could definitely be more interesting and could cut of your friends 🎉🎉🎉

Remember when you did the Speed battle? Perhaps it could be fun to combine a 15 to 20 MPH (~25 to ~33 km/h) minimum forward velocity with the boxes and the concrete walls to discourage following, I imagine it could be fun for both the players and the viewers! Video idea: one generic car that dispenses concrete, 2 players create a track with them and the 3rd player has to follow the track and not crash into it, cannot be faster than the track makers. The race car must have 2 sticks of TNT atleast, and all should build one.

Perhaps put RAW thrusters on each vehicle and add logic that turns off the trails, when you boost. If the cooldown from the RAW thrusters is too short you can also put them on a 10 sec timer or so, before you use them again. It could open up more strategy.

Don't use dinomite, use disconnecters, and disconnect wheels. So it can be save in sharp turns, to cut off each other. And use turbojets that overheating, to make charges.

You guys need boarders, on infinite map its no fun and no strategy can be used, and maybe a 10 seconds cooldown before you can use walls for 30 seconds, i didn't play trailmakers and don't know if you can program something like that, but i think it would make it even more interesting

I second an arena with obstacles. Also, a limited boost to maybe pop in front of someone. The concrete being more spread out while boosting just adds a layer imo. Potential for lots of zipping in front of someone and them going between blocks type shenanigans.

The Tron videos are always fun! But, Tron needs a closed arena, it doesn't work well in a huge open space. Weird that Trailmakers doesn't have an open arena map. I guess the Centrifuge is the closest thing but that won't work for Tron...

I wonder if it would be possible to build a kart that would allow you to do a Mario Kart race. The kart would use logic blocks to give you a random "item" every 30 seconds that would activate a specific function, for example, concrete block (banana), missile launcher (turtle shell), rocket engine (mushroom), etc... Most of it would be easy to make except for choosing a random function because there is no logic block for RNG, but I think there's maybe a way to get a pseudo-random value with some of the logic blocks.

You had a problem where the speed cap caused the match to stall. My suggestion for this is a booster of some sort that will allow you to temporarily exceed the speed cap. The booster should have a timer of around 20 seconds, so you have to be strategic with its use. (I don't know how feasible this is because I have no idea how easy it is to make a timer in Trailmakers or how large it would be.)
