@Jayceon Taylor patents aren't really a big indication on the amount of time being spent on research. On apple not wanting to introduce tech prior to it being ready they have done it a lot. Pro res raw creates videos with extremely large file sizes ( kind of the point) but iPhone usb speed is still usb 2.0 and it take ages to transfer with a cable. Butterfly keyboard and them still releasing new products with that design knowing of the failure. The only time I can remember of them switching back to a previous design after some years of fighting. Face id on the X was horrible in low light for me and others. It was hit and miss on the 12 for me and we saw a big fault from covid on it before they retrained the recognition model. A fingerprint reader in a power button is the best option to me still. The macbooks introducing higher tdp intel processors while having a chasis and cooler design that was laregly inadequate (partly on intel for the node shrink delay and 14+++ hell) but they still introduced a chasis that wasn't ready on portables and it caused bad throttling and other issues. With low tdp m chips the chasis is now perfect. The list can go on, but they don't get things right the first time and at times make hardware a downgrade or limited. Those devices were still great and had a costumer base they worked for, but I would love for them to go compete in these new markets. Competition help bring better devices to consumers

@Jayceon Taylor I agree with you 100%. First off all, a foldable phone is not “innovation”, but “reinvention”. Second one, as a Galaxy S20 Ultra and S21 Ultra, I’ve noticed those things, too. 108 MP camera that couldn’t focus because the software couldn’t compensate the lack of hardware, or the S21 Ultra not lowering it’s refresh rate to 10Hz and instead doing it at 48Hz. Or them lowering their performance on their phones since the S10 series except when a geek bench app was running (and later fixed it via software). In the end, Samsung sheeps are not different to Apple fanboys, they both brag about stuff without really knowing what they’re into. Yes, foldable technology is great, but it still has many caveats that are not worth the risk at its price. And yes, Apple did add some great technologies to their phones, but they’re all built for users not to think about it and thus not being eye catching to those who are nitpicking details.
@boredgamer85072 жыл бұрын
It's also interesting to see Apple fanboys defend apple despite using 7-10 year old technologies and calling it innovation.. fanboys buy newly launched iphone which barely has any change and don't even understand that "foldable screen" was innovation NOT foldable phone when iphone couldn't even use non-folding normal screen completely (big notch)... it's just fun to watch them😅.. my wife is one of them...😄
@alaskerheston2 жыл бұрын
@@boredgamer8507 actually, the reason why screens on Google Pixel 5, Nothing (1), and iPhone X and above have symmetrical boards is because they’re folding the screen at the bottom. TLDR: I've had my Zflip3 for over a year now, and I disagree with a lot of points in this video. Rant: The biggest point I disagree with is ZFlip being bulky in your pocket. Honestly, it's like carrying your wallet in your pants. it's not that bad. I'm a nurse and this phone stays in my scrub pockets so well (back pants pocket, scrub top pocket, side pants pocket, and regular pants pocket). Even in my cropped jackets with tiny baby pockets that can't hold shit, this phone stays in and it feels secure. When I had my Iphone6s or Samsung Galaxy, they would constantly fall out of my scrub pockets or never fit in the sad excuse for "pockets" on women's pants/jackets. Honestly. the button placement and everything I have no issues with, and they're placed perfectly imo. Even opening the phone I'm fine with and I have small hands. If anything, flipping it open and closing it to hang up on people is one of my favorite aspects and it never gets old for me. Since the main display is inside when you close it, I don't feel the need to sanitize it as much at work. I'll still sanitize my phone, but it's nice to know my screen inside isn't as dirty as the outside. My phone is usually closed at work and I rarely open it unless it's an important call. Even then, I use the outer screen to answer the call and then close my phone to hang up. so I don't need to touch the main display inside directly :) Lastly, The main reason I got the phone is for the split-screen aspect. I didn't see her utilize it in the video, but i use it A LOT. I really like how apps display on the flip when you're using "split screen". it looks neater having 2 "separate" screens rather than looking at one long screen with 2 windows open. It's hard to explain, but it's like a tiny productivity laptop. Anyways that's my rant if you read it ... I'm surprised you did LOL.

I watched this video before getting a Z flip 4 coming from an iphone 12 mini. I can honestly say it was the best decision! I originally got my mini because I wanted a small phone. Not because I wanted to use it one handed or anything, I just did not want a physically huge device. So at the time the Mini seemed like the perfect phone for me since it was about the same size as my iPhone 7. I was also excited to ditch the home button and huge screen bezels when every flagship was going towards very high screen to body ratios. The issue with the iPhone 12 mini size is that it is nice by making the phone footprint smaller but when you're actually USING the device 5.4" is so tiny. The flip accomplished the smaller footprint by folding which is the novel idea. In practice if the durability wasn't a worry this form factor is so much better for having both a huge screen and a small footprint. The flip so far has been the perfect solution for me. It is about the same width as the Mini but much taller giving me a huge screen to read or browse the web on. And then when I'm done and need to put my phone away for a while it is so satisfying to close it. Another design pro - it's so cute! It reminds me of the compacts from the show Totally Spies and it is just as small as a compact. The feel in your hand when closed is perfect, it feels great in the hand. Durability wise I'm not worried after watching jerryrigeverything bend the crap out of it and then disassemble it and put it back together. These things are built by genius engineers. I would say if you can try it out and return if you don't, like get it!

@@davip8269 I chose your second option. Currently use Z flip4 for everyday use and iphone just for testing. Flip4 is so convenient for everyday life I would say, I mean its size, weight are just perfect for me. The best thing is you can customise almost everything to suit your everyday use. The split screen option is another thing to consider since it's surprisingly unavailable on iphone14 series. However, there're two better things on iphone 14 (in my opinion), battery and camera. Even I said that iphone cam is better overall, I still prefer flip4 camera for my personal use. The reasons are that I can take my own photo using the main cam without asking ppl to do so, I can take a nice cool selfie in many different angles, and I just personaly don't like the yellow skin tone from iphone cam. Don't judge the camera quality from this vdo, flip4 cam can do far more better. I mean the flip's picture in this vdo is not even focused + you can get better night pic using night mode. The Flip has changed my life in so many ways and I think it's something you have to use for months to actually realize. My first flip was the 3 and I got my 4 yesterday and I must say it's the phone I could never ditch cuz of 3 main reasons. 1. This one is the most important, it made me use my phone less often and cut my SOT under 4 hours a day from the previous 8. This was anoyying at first but gradually over time I realized that each and every notification doesn't mean I have to pick up my phone which often leads to mindless scrolling and wasted time. My productivity has improved and I genuinely feel like my phone addiction has went away. 2. The use of it as it's own stand, it makes the phone genuinely very practical for when your eating out and want to read something or watch a video. 3. The productivity advantages a Samsung phone has in general is something that made me ditch the 13 pro max i was gifted after 3 months. From not having a native clipboard which is basicly the main reason I use my phone for work killed me and the 3rd party ones where a pain to use. Just feels like IOS is made for social media and not work.

My only complaint about the Flip 4 is that it collects a lot of dust especially around the screen protector that comes with it where as the S22 Ultra, it's more manageable. I think for a normal user like me, it's more important that the phone brings in some sort of a novelty factor if it's a 1000 dollars (provided both of them have the basics in place). The iPhone is a slab, with the UI not being as customisable as Android. And hence for that sort of money, I'd rather go for the Z Flip, because the form factor is just so attractive to me. But that is only if it does all the basic things that I expect from a phone, reasonably well.

I think that the Z Flip 4 is a really amazing phone, and the flipping aspect costs a deserved premium. The front display has a lot of utility and doesn't require opening the phone for everything, the angled mode gives allows for different features and methods for taking photos. Not to mention the extra portability and carrying options. To tie an opinion to a gimmick made me a little bit sad because most of the review hit the points I would look for in a phone. The lack of camera hardware, dex, and extra price premium turned me away from the Flip but it doesn't make it a gimmick. The s22, pixel 7pro, or maybe the iPhone 14 (potentially pro) would likely be my next phone if I decide to upgrade.

All these new phones are too big to use for me since I have small hands too, but that's exactly why I like the folding factor. You can have a screen that's even slightly bigger than normal phones, to watch stuff or game on, but fold it a little bit and everything becomes easy to reach. you can hold it in one hand for daily use, even use the cover screen for a lot of things. there's also a little mousepad with a cursor that makes everything easier to reach. when you want to relax you fold it all the way and you have a nice big screen. edit: there's also a pop up control panel and multitasking options that make good use of the big screen

Here's my take on the flip. I love my flip 4 especially after purchasing a case with a kickstand and spine protector, now I've invested in the phone and now it feels like a phone that can stand the test of time. The spine protector helps my fingers grip the device but I normally use the kickstand between my fingers to prop my device to a perfect height for my fingers. Honestly, it is a flagship phone that feels like a flagship phone for a reasonable price and I like that I can do so much more with my device, especially with flex mode. Honest review this phone gets a 10/10 for me because I am a heavy user but the android UI is what I need out of my device and the flip fits all the things I look for in a phone and so much more with flex mode, multi-app, 120ghz display, a cooler battery that can last me most the day (even if I spend lots of time gaming), fast charge time including super fast charge, an amazing speaker the top class I've heard so far between the 2 competitors (apple), but the biggest thing is that the user interface is so advanced that I needed to tune my device and now my device fits me. Not the other way around, I had fun with flex mode and then putting the on screen display to have 3 or more apps going, I've used a lot of switching between apps, and the fact that I always have a tripod when making videos instead of having to prop my phone up with some books or a separate 12-80 dollar tripod is nice. 3rd party apps without having to jailbreak your phone. An honest review from an android user who has tested out iPhones and just needs more out of his device is that don't settle into your device. Tune your device to your needs and it becomes the most fun experience you'll have. I came previously from a z flip 3 to a 4 and before that, I had the iPhone 11. With the flip series, I've had the most satisfying experience turning my device and seeing what it could do and that's something that I can praise Samsungs UI and its processor for. And then doing it in a way that gets attention at a reasonable price where it falters it makes up for in the device itself and especially when you invest time into it. Because it's not just a phone. It capitalizes the potential of a great "brick phone style" while highlighting the other key things we use our phones for. I am extremely impressed with everything this phone is and have the luxury of not being so far invested in the apple ecosystem that I couldn't get out. The z flip 4 is worth the investment when you invest into it and is incredible for cross-platform applications. This is just talking about the UI but I cannot praise Samsung enough for flex mode. Like it's not just a gimmick it is a key function and boy does it deliver, and running 3rd party cover screen apps is just fun

"honest review" that implies that it is at least a fair review. She then proceeds to complain that a Samsung phone doesn't have apples stupid wireless charging standard, and that was one of the main reasons she didn't like the phone??? Another big reason for her was the lack of an under screen fingerprint scanner?? Tell me how that would work exactly? You want me to open the phone to unlock it then close the phone to use my widgets? Not to mention that ultrasonic fingerprint scanning requires a glass surface to work, folding phones can't do that yet. Let me boil this review down for anyone who doesn't want to waste time, it's not an iPhone, so if you want an iPhone get an iPhone.
@PfropfNo12 жыл бұрын
On iPhone you can do certain things without unlocking, for example taking photos. It’s nice when you give strangers or “friends” your phone to take photos of you. So one could imagine that you don’t need to unlock the fold when it’s closed and only unlock it when it’s opened. I think the scanner in the button makes sense for bar Handy’s when you need to press something to turn on the display anyway. But here it turns on when opened and there is no reason to touch the side then. I understand it’s a small detail but she is used to faceID, so she is not used to do anything for unlocking. Also I think it’s legit to complain about things that have no technical solution (yet). I mean this is not a CEO telling their employees what to build, it’s just a user telling what she does and doesn’t like.

While the video was well done, I can't take much more of these Max Tech titles. For this one you guys used an image with the words "Never Again" and the words "Ditched my iPhone" for maximum clickbait. I put up with this for the kazillion MacBook videos but now I'm drained. Unsubscribed

It would still be the same old boring shit. Not enough rumors going around for some "innovative" update. Maybe coming back to rounded sides, few adjustment on shape and size, and that's about it. Then adds another "feature" that Android or Samsung has nearly half a decade.

@@Le_Mon9 ...much like the Flip4, little change in the fourth-gen? And the S22U. That is what happens when a market matures. You have to accept that. Some people will think foldable are novel and exciting, but the reality is they are overpriced, under-spec one-trick pony.
@Le_Mon92 жыл бұрын
@@ahaimes6320 that's just one generation for refinements though. Unlike with the iPhone, not much has change for at least 5 years. The biggest change was adding a notch. A NOTCH. Regarding the brightness, it is likely to preserve battery life. Most people don't need or want their screen super bright unless they are outside.
@fame27262 жыл бұрын
Basically you are supposed to use the Adaptive Brightness. Cause that way it turns up the brightness up in the sun and turns it down if you're in a dark room. I mean... You dont need the maximum brightness in a closed room. Its not a plus to use the top brightness in a dark room only by turning up the brightness slider!

I do think going from a normal phone to a flip phone takes a little time to get used to... definitely more than a week. I've had the flip 3 for over a year and love it and I have small hands. I was deciding between s23 and flip 4 but I love the "gimmick" of the flip phone. But comparing to iphones? I switched from apple to Samsung for the s6 edge because I love the "gimmick" of innovation and I haven't looked back. My family complains about not being able to label our text messages because I don't have apple but I'm on Textra customizing colors, names, fonts...the customization that android offers overall is just so worth it to me. I still love my iPad but I can't imagine going back to an apple phone.

I understand some of your points but you seemed kinda Apple bias.. Samsung is all about innovation and customization. Thats why they can put a $999 price tag. I've actually truly enjoyed the side fingerprint sensor. The only negative thing imo about the flip is the front camera. The back is fine and all other aspects of this phone are fine to me besides maybe an even better battery upgrade and bigger front display but thats nitpicking. I love that Samsung thinks outside the box and listens to their customers opinions.

The Samsung fold and flip 4 are remarkable this year. The Z Flip 4, I feel, is not Disappointing because it is a faster phone with longer battery life and better cameras. I am more disappointed in the ecosystem that I am locked into. The blue bubble has locked me to IOS because my friends, family, and coworkers own iPhones. We need to acknowledge for IOS users, At least in the U.S, one barrier to Switching to any android phone is i-message and facetime. And I am not complaining; I love the iPhone.

4:21 guys she has stadia All jokes aside. I feel like she's getting too much hate for this. This is an iphone user perspective. If I used an Iphone my complains would also be that it isn't an android. No launchers no google assistant. No emulators. Not punch hole. And has nothing special such as native zoom like xperia or s pen from Samsung. Plus her points make sense. I've used both phones. Magsafe really does a lot. I can finally sleep while charging my phone and the qireless chargers a phone stand too and normally charging it is more hassle free than a wired or normal wireless charging. The punch hole is actually more bothersome because iPhone actually does something like the dynamic island to their ios to make the notch look like a feature than a downgrade. There's so many more about the iphone sensor too that i missed every time i use an android. Like my iphone 10 has a sensor feature that makes my phone only vibrates when someone's calling if they phone detects that it's inside a pocket. Or if you put the iphone face down the phone call will silent. Conclusion. Apple fanboys have a hard time using an android. Android fan boys also have a hard time using an ios. I believe this is done on purpose so no one switches ecosystems. Which we obviously see does work.

I bought a Flip 4 recently (came from a S21 ultra) and I have some of the same 'issues' with the phone. The main camera isn't as good as I had hoped it would be, but for me it's not a dealbreaker. I also really don't like the screenprotector, the camera cutout is terrible, and the way the screenprotector is fitted makes it so that dust collects on the sides. I also think the volume buttons are very high up, and if you use a case it becomes even more difficult to press. Other than that I absolutely love this phone. I do understand why people would prefer other brands, like Apple, though, That magsafe charger looks really good, and I wish we had something like that. But then again, what I love about the Flip 4 are these really fashionable covers. I bought a white silicone cover with an orange strap and I've never been more fascinated with how awesome a case can be :)

@@kohnermorgan8617 Length wise there's no difference, but you do notice that the width of the screen has been shaved off on the Flip 4. So u should see if that's a dealbreaker for u. You dont need to reach up to pull the notification bar. You can pull down from anywhere on the screen and it'll come down. But i think this was an option that needs to be toggled somewhere (probably in notification settings, the three dots)

I think alot of those buying will be sick of flipping their phone open continuously, especially if dealing with friends who text multiple one liners. Its a novelty for sure , however technology will continue to evolve and future flips will be far more durable and longer lasting than the 4. The minor upgrade over the 3 seems to be battery and camera tweak. If one wants a more compact Android phone the Zenfone 9 is a far better option imho aside from its support period. Of course this is for those who are interested in Android only like myself...

You have to go into the settings to activate things like brightness because OEM's have to make decisions and battery is one of those decisions. Brighter screen or longer battery? You decide. And Magsafe is just a wireless charger. Find one just like it. I have had wireless chargers around my home before iphones had wireless charging. This reviewer fell for the marketing hype.

I was an Iphone user for years. I have all Mac products and probably the pain of changing from iPhone to Samsung I thought it would be a lot, since everything were sync together. However, this year I made the decision to switch to Z4 flip and I will never go back to iPhone again. Android is doing such a great job. iPhone only has iMessage that obsessed you with messaging. I don't even believe iPhone Camera is better. The AI technology use in Samsung phones are mind blowing.

I currently have this flip cellphone and I really love it! Yesterday I went swimming and I forgot all about it that i was swimming with it because i had it in my pocket, but it was totally fine. the cameras became blurry because it had some moisture on it and it only lasted 48 hours for it to disappeared. Make sure you charged it to the fullest before you swim with it under water because you cannot charge it when it's wet inside after 5 hour's. This flip cellphone do not need floating water proof pouch. 😎

Wow, glad your phone was ok, and pretty sure it won't be a problem if it's a one off thing, but please remember this thing is water RESISTANT not PROOF and plus it is resistant to Fresh Water, not Chlorine treated water that can corrode the seal. Don't swim with this often, and make sure to lightly rinse it off with fresh water afterwards.

I feel like this lady didn’t give the Samsung a chance. She wasn’t open minded at all. She did it more of like an assignment than try to understand the phone, also she praised the apple so much when this was supposed to be a review for the Samsung. Not a comparison. Also, I have an iPhone I love my iPhone but there isn’t much to it tbh. With android there’s a new style and new theme which I love. iPhone focuses more on their camera design and quality to me. Of which Samsung is catching up real fast. The fold 4 is super cute and customisable which is a huge seller for it, not just the fact that if “folds” There’s more to that phone than all you mentioned tbh.
