We have recently done a review of the Z Grills 700D4E which is an upgrade over the 700E we reviewed in this video. You can check out the new review here kzbin.info/www/bejne/e2WuXod4gch3nck While you can still buy the 700E, for our money we would recommend the 700D4E which comes with an improved PID controller and pellet cleanout features.

My 700 D arrived damaged, they had me take a picture of the box, which was smashed, the door was badly dented, I sent pictures of that too, they sent me a new door with handle and new pins for the hinges, no questions asked, they told me to keep the old door and handle and zgrill emblem. These do not sear food, they are smokers, I cook steak on my gas grill. But you can fill this thing with chicken on 300 deg, and go sit on the couch for an hour, no flare ups nothing. I love that.

So far happy with the Z-Grill 1000, added a smoke ring to get that extra smoke flavor and smoke ring I am used to from my old wood smoker. I do no use it for grilling, I use my Weber Genesis for grilling. I have been pleased with the taste and moist meat that I have cooked on the Z-Grill.

I so agree with having an easy clean out for when the pellets are being burn.

Thanks for the review. I just started using a 1000b model and really like it...not perfect but the price was right. Just made a 25oz porterhouse on it and it turned out great to me. I really don't prefer heavy char marks so I'm not missing that.

I have the one just like this one without the bottom. I like it, also have an offset smoker and gas grille. Have to use the smoke function to get any taste or smoke ring as compared to my offset. Love the connivence. Just wish it would get a little hotter. Also have the insert for searing

I have the 1000D model, same things, no cleanout for unused pellets, so I took the grate out and just scoop them out. Yes, I loose smoke from the door and the ash pan, you can buy the gasket material from Z Grills, or you can find it online and save about 40 to 50 percent. So far I've smoked a turkey for Easter, turned out to be the best turkey I've ever done, and that's in my 20 years of smoking meats.

I have a 1000, though first attempts lack a good smoke ring and flavor that I was used to from my wood smoker. I added a smoke ring and now get a good ring and bark on the meat. I use my Weber gas for grilling.

Have you tried to let all the pellets burn? Would be less hassle to take them out.

I'm posting this to every review I find of the Z Grill: Z Grills are a ripoff Chinese outfit. The 700D they sent me arrived with bent grills and they refuse to replace them saying shipping to Canada is too risky. Remember that when you hear what a great product they flog. Their customer service is brutal.

I had a Traeger and a Kamato pot with that said I sole the Traeger and after 50-years of use the moving company broke my Kamato Pot. With that said I bought a Z-grill the big factor was the cost but, if I had to do it over again I'd bought a new Kamato Pot. I agree with this video the Z-grill works OK but not great. If your thinking about a pellet grill it is worth it to spend the extra money and by a pellet stove with more bells and whistles. Better yet I plan to sell the z-grill and buy a new ceramic pot. Hope this helps you.

ok, smoker... would recommend Traeger especially for Customer Experience. I had paint bubbles shrugged off by Z Grills customer service, leaking grease from poor seam welds, and the temperature can fluctuate 20 plus degrees from selected temp and external temp probes. Customer service pushed my concerns with so many "try this" or "see if it continues, when you...." finally the warranty ran out and that was the last excuse they needed.

My Z Grill 700E I use it at least 3+ years. Here is the biggest problem with all pellet grills if you fill up the pellet hopper to the top. There is too much weight on one side and will tip over. Therefore, I placed brick pavers in the lower cabinet at the opposite side as a counter balance. Cleaning, I use a blower to blow out the ashes. Now, If I did it again, I would purchase the Woodwind SG 24 Pellet Grill with Sear Box or the Woodwind SG 24 Pellet Grill with Sidekick. Reasons: easier to clean out ash, change pellet types and I sometimes I really needed to sear items. Now I have major with my tempture and it keeps shuting down. After. 3 years, I am not happy with the Z-Grille 700.

If they have been building grills for treager and others why did they need to crowd fund? They can't be very business savvy if they are that poor to not be able to finance it themselves?

They could have done it to gauge popularity. This way if they reach their goal they know they’ll sell, and they have some capital to work with. If the campaign was a failure we probably wouldn’t have these to buy. And that would have saved them a bundle of $$$ if they had tried on their own and failed.

I have had one of these for 7 months. I do not recommend. The temp probe and control box already went bad. They are hard to clean no pellet clean out. Under engineered(which I normally prefer). Not for someone who uses once or twice a week. Meant for someone who will drag it out on holidays.

These grillz are trash. I ordered the 7002C2E. What a joke. Arrived damaged. They asked if I could/would fix it. I said no. They sent a new chamber (the item that was damaged). The new chamber wasn't the same. It was an "old" design. They asked if that was acceptable. I said no..."the legs won't work". They sent "old" legs for an "old" chamber. Except...the legs they sent were for the original chamber. So now I have a new chamber that is old and can't be used. I also have 2 sets of legs that only fit the damaged chamber. I asked for a new grill be sent. This is where things went south. Now all of a sudden they don't want to work with me. So I did some research. I'm pretty sure this is a Chinese company doing business here in the U.S. and sending all the manufacturing back "home" to their homeland. I'm packing everything up and sending it back. Not because of a "Nationality" issue (although that would be enough in most everyone's eyes) but because I actually did some tests. We actually got the original chamber bent back into shape, and assembled it. Once we fired it up, we discovered that the LED readout on the chamber temp was off by about 30 degrees. The readout said the chamber was 275 but the thermometer we placed inside the chamber read 243. We put an extra thermometer inside the chamber to verify the other's reading. It too produced a temp reading of 243-245. The PID controller isn't accurate...AT ALL! I'm going to post a link to a video with all my experiences with this company. Emails and EVERYTHING! Please...DO NOT BUY this crap! I found something better...same price range. I'm not going to tell you the brand I am looking at because this would become an ad. Just know this is crap and Z Grills didn't "reach out" to me to do a review like this dude. Save your money.
