I love this high end yet minimalist design. It’s overkill for this newbie and my AeroPress, and way out of what should be my budget, but I love and want this. Perfect fit for where it would be used too. Someone help me justify this purchase… LOL … 😅

Actually, on a more serious note, replying to you would help me go through my own thought process as well. I’m in a similar boat as you, except on the espresso side. I’ve been making espresso at home for the last four or five years now and I’m very much a beginner, but I enjoy making it part of my morning routine. I also have no reason to upgrade from my Breville barista express because it does everything I need, and I can get it to taste the way I like. But of course we all want to treat ourselves and I am a huge fan of form even above function sometimes, so I started looking into a new machine and subsequently a new grinder. I kept my grinder budget below 500 and only found one or two contenders that are definitely compromises but still upgrades from what I have. I was watching a video and saw in the background a grinder that I thought looked gorgeous, so I started looking through that channel to find if that grinder was ever featured while knowing that that grinder was definitely not going to be under $1000. It ended up It ended up being this grinder. The knowledge and experience required to get the most out of this grinder is well beyond what I have, though I’m not opposed to learning all of it, and this is definitely outside of my predetermined budget as well as skill level. But with that being said, I was attracted to this grinder not because it is expensive and fancy, but despite that. And so I thought to myself that down the line I would love to get a grinder like this, but was contrasting my attraction to this grinder, as well as my appreciation for all of its functionality and user friendliness, especially in terms of maintenance, and holding that up against the various compromises I was making for myself to keep the budget under $500 especially knowing that eventually I would upgrade to this. And I know I’m very good at justifying spending more money and I hate that about myself lol, but when I started doing the research on this grinder, I realized that it requires a waitlist ticket, which was only $10, the waitlist is only addressed every quarter, and once you get an allocation for a grinder, it would take at least six months to get one. So I bought a waitlist knowing that the earliest I could even get a grinder like this is next April or May, and that’s the absolute earliest assuming that the next production cycle I actually get an allocation. And I justified it to myself by saying that I will get the waitlist ticket for $10 and if during that time I do the research and realize I don’t want one then I’ve just lost $10. However, I could also go for a very budget grinder and use it for the period of time it would take for me to re-accumulate funds and then upgrade to this grinder. It is an exercise in man-math for sure, lol, but that was at least my thought process. There was also the fairly legitimate argument of buying once and crying once, though that’s a bit pessimistic for my taste, lol! But it is true, I think if one is ultimately going to upgrade to a specific target, if you can manage to afford it, you may as well just do it once, justify the purchase by using it all the time, and learning and growing as you use it. And when I considered the fact that within this price range, as well as above this price range, all of the other grinders are still very ugly to me, and that no amount of premium functionality would justify having a grinder that does not satisfy my love of form as well as function, I don’t ever see myself, feeling the desire to spend more money on another grinder that might be more expensive unless it performs what I have in both function and form. Sorry for the dissertation, but your comment got me rolling.

Do you not have to align the burrs like I see people doing with most flat burr grinders?

never mind, Hedrick has answered my question :)

So the burrs are just held in place by only magnets???
