great tutorial, but the 'screws' you talk about first, are called 'ALLEN key' in some of the world, HEX in others, as distinct from the word screw, which implies, Phillips or flat head styles.

Great that you put demonstration videos on youtube. Many of us like me, don’t use Instagram. So can you keep the how to videos coming? I’m expecting my Zerno in a month and am afraid to change burrs myself, afraid to loose the proper alignment and getting lost in this. So welcome the videos!

lot of noise for a 1400 dollar grinder, something to fix for next iterations
@ArtUnlimitedАй бұрын
Exactly! Blows my mind how noisy some higher-end grinders are. Many are much louder than my BARATZA Forté BG. Making it hard to upgrade.
@SonicFury624 күн бұрын
I have one. It’s not noisy. It’s noticeably quieter than the Niche it replaced. I think videos tend to exaggerate the noise level and it’s best to reserve judgement until you hear one in the real world.

Hi Zerno, May I know how much does it cost to ship to Singapore?
@jonnyanns1227 күн бұрын
Can expect around 200sgd for delivery and then 9% of the total price inc delivery for gst (and maybe a bit more for any import charges), so nearing 500sgd total on top of the grinder itself

Hi Does removing the motor unit like this change alignment from the factory? Reason for my question is that I think I'll shortly be needing to do something like this to exchange the switch unit that you've kindly sent a replacement for. I can see in the video the screws that hold the switch unit in place and so replacing that looks straightforward. I can also see on dispatch notes you've actually included new PCB - although not sure if needed I assume all will become clear when I get the package. Thanks Chris

I love this high end yet minimalist design. It’s overkill for this newbie and my AeroPress, and way out of what should be my budget, but I love and want this. Perfect fit for where it would be used too. Someone help me justify this purchase… LOL … 😅
@ruleofones3 ай бұрын
My justification: comoooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnn
@ruleofones3 ай бұрын
Actually, on a more serious note, replying to you would help me go through my own thought process as well. I’m in a similar boat as you, except on the espresso side. I’ve been making espresso at home for the last four or five years now and I’m very much a beginner, but I enjoy making it part of my morning routine. I also have no reason to upgrade from my Breville barista express because it does everything I need, and I can get it to taste the way I like. But of course we all want to treat ourselves and I am a huge fan of form even above function sometimes, so I started looking into a new machine and subsequently a new grinder. I kept my grinder budget below 500 and only found one or two contenders that are definitely compromises but still upgrades from what I have. I was watching a video and saw in the background a grinder that I thought looked gorgeous, so I started looking through that channel to find if that grinder was ever featured while knowing that that grinder was definitely not going to be under $1000. It ended up It ended up being this grinder. The knowledge and experience required to get the most out of this grinder is well beyond what I have, though I’m not opposed to learning all of it, and this is definitely outside of my predetermined budget as well as skill level. But with that being said, I was attracted to this grinder not because it is expensive and fancy, but despite that. And so I thought to myself that down the line I would love to get a grinder like this, but was contrasting my attraction to this grinder, as well as my appreciation for all of its functionality and user friendliness, especially in terms of maintenance, and holding that up against the various compromises I was making for myself to keep the budget under $500 especially knowing that eventually I would upgrade to this. And I know I’m very good at justifying spending more money and I hate that about myself lol, but when I started doing the research on this grinder, I realized that it requires a waitlist ticket, which was only $10, the waitlist is only addressed every quarter, and once you get an allocation for a grinder, it would take at least six months to get one. So I bought a waitlist knowing that the earliest I could even get a grinder like this is next April or May, and that’s the absolute earliest assuming that the next production cycle I actually get an allocation. And I justified it to myself by saying that I will get the waitlist ticket for $10 and if during that time I do the research and realize I don’t want one then I’ve just lost $10. However, I could also go for a very budget grinder and use it for the period of time it would take for me to re-accumulate funds and then upgrade to this grinder. It is an exercise in man-math for sure, lol, but that was at least my thought process. There was also the fairly legitimate argument of buying once and crying once, though that’s a bit pessimistic for my taste, lol! But it is true, I think if one is ultimately going to upgrade to a specific target, if you can manage to afford it, you may as well just do it once, justify the purchase by using it all the time, and learning and growing as you use it. And when I considered the fact that within this price range, as well as above this price range, all of the other grinders are still very ugly to me, and that no amount of premium functionality would justify having a grinder that does not satisfy my love of form as well as function, I don’t ever see myself, feeling the desire to spend more money on another grinder that might be more expensive unless it performs what I have in both function and form. Sorry for the dissertation, but your comment got me rolling.

That espresso looked amazing ! I would suggest the Weber blind shaker, for better prepare the puck. I think it fits in your setup. I totally agree and understand the comments on the noise of the grinder, but I personally don't mind. Grinders with prebreakers - augers or how they called, I love them. If I consider two grinders, that is the Zerno and the Wug2 PS. Which burr-set out of the 5 that Zerno offers, would you suggest for Espresso only use ?

@barjee Жыл бұрын
How can you say grind finer? you have no idea how long the lever was on for before we saw the extraction happening nor do you know when the shot finished or if he used a flow profile or preinfusion. With the temperature you don't know the roast level of those beans, the light roasts i use get brewed at 94 - 96, you also don't know if he has a brew temp offset programmed, he might also have the LCC set to TR1 in the advanced settings so it shows the offset temp which varies and jumps around rather than displaying the set target temp (TR0 in advanced settings) which stays the same on the LCC so it could have been a completely different temp when he brewed once it had stabalized.
