Hello Z1, So, few things that can help you: - You need to dig with a T1 Pickaxe, because now the T1 drills won't work as far as you dug out because you we're using a T2 Pickaxe. - Activate Build Anywhere from the mods menu - then you can fit the pipes where you want them. Afterwards, you can workout the clearance issues and not have to worry and make the build as you want. - You can use stairs at the entrance of the smelting area and then raise the ground to make it look good. - Check the booster you can craft and attach to the water pipe - it's in the crafting area and it needs 60 Iron for the T1. Take also a Water Pressure Gauge Hook and this way you can calculate where you start seriously loosing pressure and add extra Pressure Tanks to make the whole assemble go as far as you want it to. - Build already the Repair logic at the Starter mine and then you can work as much as you want as the Icehelm mine. This way you can still produce materials and just have to go from time to time to sell to earn the money for when you run out of. I'm also playing this and discovering this going along. Good job with the vids and keep it up! :)

The further you dig horizontally(instead of vertically like with other digsites) into the Icehelm mine, the better quality your dirt is. Basically just think of the entire digsite as rotated 90 degrees horizontally
@nardfark61832 жыл бұрын
Agreed, the best pay dirt is at the back wall, it's not dependent on depth.
@garyschreiber87762 жыл бұрын
@@nardfark6183 So, for Icehelm, you're saying the MINERS need to be rotate horizontally to dig "down" into the wall, rather than vertically into the ground? The belts or cleaners would then need to be placed below the unit, unless it's set to output sideways and one would need to then figure out where the output would land... Hmm, how deep would a T1 Miner be able to dig? Could it dig into "T2" dirt or would it stop digging or stop outputting?!? Food for thought...
@smeezer2 жыл бұрын
@@garyschreiber8776 No, because you just need a layer of dirt under the miners so if the miners are further in, with some dirt underneath you get the same effect. It's just that the resource value increases horizontally away from the start instead of vertically down from the start.

Helpful tips I've learned during my series also move your drills all the way to the back of your mind for maximum profit 1. Middle mouse wheel can move the pieces around 2. You can raise the floor if you rotate it around into specific positions 3. The rake needs some work and works amazing for cleaning dirt off the foundations 4. If you don't have enough room for your structures they won't fit 5. use a pressure reader to determine the weakest flow then add a pressure increaser there to maximize efficiency 6. If you put 2 tees under the conveyor with 2 corners and a pressure booster in between that you can keep conveyors connected without making droops and it will look nice

Btw... five filters effectively disable damage drills and harvesters take. each filter takes 20% off the damage and 5 of them equal to 100% damage reduction. So the only thing left to repair are the filters themselves and thats easily done with an auto-repair logic system.

You need to put your pressure tanks just before the machines using the water instead of right after the water intakes. This way you optimize the pressure increase on the pipes to be used by the machines
@Calypso69172 жыл бұрын
This is correct. The pressure tanks reset the pressure back to the highest pressure you are getting, then each pipe after one decreases the percent. Usually good to have a pressure tank before every machine to make them work at the highest efficiency.
@amazingJDGGAMER1002 жыл бұрын
Yea you can have a very long pipe with zero pressure and one pressure tank will bring it back to full pressure. Cloutium water intake helps keep it at 177 right after pressure tank. its 365 with all boosts and cloutium pipes.

The water doesn't have to flow the way the belt is setup, you can use an 90 degree turn to create a loop with a pressure booster and bring the loop back to continue the belt while just using straight belts across the turns. Also there are pressure boosters for the intake, they are other craftables.

It's a epic start Z! I love how you try and make sure about everything before actually moving stuff over! The overall base idea seems pretty cool too, I hope you make a living area for yourself with a bed...and a throne (yes there is a throne chair decorating piece in one of the towns, a king of mining should have a kingly throne! Mahahaha!) Anyways, remember when making your calculations on the piping, you have pipes at the old base you can also make use of. That lessen overall cost. As for pressure, if you want to make one long continuous conveyor, you could try some Wiggy finagling to get it done. Instead of "peaks", you make use of T junction, I'm not 100% if a conveyor can go on a T, but the would be a T at the, a curve coming out of the side, pressure booster, straight, then an other T that goes where your new line of conveyors are. If it works, easy access to refill your stuff, can keep the conveyors flat, which in turn makes it easier to see everything. Also, an other thing you could do for boosting pressure, there is a schematic for the large forger, that goes right in the start pipe that goes into the water! And has two different Tiers even! And very inexpensive metal wise. Lastly, for leveling dirty, you could try using a shoved to "move dirty" into where you want, then use a rake to "level out that large dirty amount", for science at least to see if that makes things look better over all. Also! Your shovel maybe be able to go where your pickaxe can't~ I look forward to the next episode!!
@robw54692 жыл бұрын
Z you should take your tier 1 pickaxe and find out how far back t1 is in icehelm. Since you dug it out with a t2 pickaxe your t1 drills will stop working once you hit t2 dirt. Find where t1 dirt stops and run your drills across the back wall as that is the "deepest" t1 dirt in that dig site. Then you can also place conveyors on all the piping you use to get water to the back!
@unusualfabrication99372 жыл бұрын
the back isn't actually the end I think, it's just you need a higher tier pickaxe, and therefore drills and harvesters, to break and use the farther, and more lucrative, dirt.

Loving the videos, keep up the great work.

Rotate your drill setup 90° and put it at the border of T1/T2 dirt for maximum reward! that way your drills will go along the border and not perpendicular to it, so that way you can also place down much more drills! In my playthrough I was able to put 24 T1 drills in a row! And I did two rows, for a total of 48 drills! :D How do you know where he border of T1 dirt is? Simply get a T1 pickaxe and smack the dirt until you hear a ding. The higher dirt tiers go further down the tunnel.

Keep it simple for stage 1... build up and use the forge stuff. Remember if you go on a shopping trip: there is a pallett at the icehelm shop, you can throw your 100 water pipes on it and lift it in one go...
@nullandvoidification2 жыл бұрын
You actually are better off running your drills side to side in icehelm, so go back about 7 or 8 blocks and set your drills in a row all 7 or 8 blocks back from the front, then another row at 5-6 blocks back separated by the conveyor that will actually maximize what you get out of it because the quality of the dirt for the drills is based on how far back from the front in icehelm instead of how far down. And where you just got sparks with the pick is Tier 3 dirt which there's no way to mine currently.

Some people are saying to wait on Cloutium for later. I might suggest (due to pressure loss along the run) run the INITIAL pipes as Cloutium (intake and maybe up to the first machine, then switch to Iron. It's easy enough to replace individual pipe segments, but you probably want the INITIAL pipes as Cloutium from the get-go.... You've already demonstrated that your CURRENT equipment can bring in enough funds to support the boosted cost of Cloutium gear and/or T2 gear. Maybe leave the current T1 Iron equipment at the original dig size, in operation, and work towards getting enough Cloutium and Iron for a Coutium Miner, and start from that... You'll also want a good supply of Tools, initially, to see how the equipment handles the transition. Pressure tanks may be necessary, but Cloutium pipes feeding Iron Miners may result in a problem, especially immediately after a Pressure Tank.
@garyschreiber87762 жыл бұрын
Also, I'd place ONLY Miners and Conveyers in the MINEABLE area and the processing gear in the non-mineable area. That would allow for increased Miner activity and maybe allow you to feed the processors from multiple directions with a dirt separator on the last Conveyor before processing starts. You could also place a Gem Grinder on the last belt before going through a sorter system separating the different types of gems and then maybe dropping it into a manual Pressurizer to get the larger gems when you're ready for them.
@garyschreiber87762 жыл бұрын
As I'm watching the vid further, I'm getting additional ideas. I thought, what about placing Miners on EITHER SIDE of the Conveyor and having TWO Miners feeding each segment of the Conveyor. If you're concerned with clumping, you could either alternate sides on each segment or leave a gap every now and then with a Dirt Separator on it...

A good thing to try is to produce various Rings, Daggers, etc. and see which produces the most funds per equivalent amount of resource. Maybe see if putting Gems into a Dagger increases the value to optimize the financial side and then let the initial construction area run. Once you find the financial "sweet spot", just work around that. The biggest issue that I foresee is maintenance and repairs in the initial area. You may have to automate the repair logic (good test area?) to keep it running at full tilt while you're not around...

The dirt tiers are horizontal in the forge mine, use your tier 1 pickaxe to find the tier 2 dirt and that's as far as your tier 1 drills can go. Pressure boosters should be close to your machines because of the pipe pressure losses.

You can also make pressure boosters for the water intake, they attach in much the same way as the water filters. Four forged iron water boosters bring the pressure from the forged iron intake to the max for forged iron, which is 180%.
