You have those 2 "prongs" on the front of the ship, put a panel down on them and use it for your crafting bench, the answer was right there under your nose lol

The blue line you broke is a wire that moves electricity. Use the wiring tool to draw a line between the broken parts. The yellow ones are pipes that move propellant and ore around. They can snap into a duct to save on your computer's processing power so make sure to check what they're connected to with U.

You had the right idea with using U on items, it says under the material tab what it is and what materials you need to craft it. Specifically that's a "small navigation receiver".

I’d most definitely get accustomed to the tools so that you have an understanding of your ship. I think that will be beneficial knowledge for later when you want to outfit your base.

The screens are where you run scripts for programming your ship, The way the ship auto charges the batteries when needed will be using one. (Or maybe even more than 1)

Get your tools researched. They'll allow you to get the resources to build a station. You take the station research first and you'll probably not get more than a basic framework before you have to grind for the tools anyway.

Blue cables are for Power. You need a tool and ammunition to repair it. The yellow one is a tube and connect storages.

You don't need to put the bench down, you can just whip it out of your inventory and let it float in front of you to use it, just dont forget to pick it back up.

Those pads are actually for putting in command's for different things like the door at the ship you wanted to get.

7:33 I think its about mining itself. If you play a game with some kind of grind, grind itself has to be satysfying otherwise you wont play this game for long. In this game, watching asteroids getting obligirated by your pickaxe is so satysfying! Devs made really good job with asteroids chunks.

Use the chainsaw on the worthless rock portion to destroy it (so it doesnt float around in your way) then switch to pickaxe.

Hey Z. A tip to tell if somethings bolted down correctly is to try and grab it with E and try to jiggle it around and if it stays put it won’t fly away, it’ll also highlight bolts in red that need to be removed in case you want to remove it

Making a base station is actually bad idea early game. They're disconnected from everywhere, you can't sell things, can't refuel propellant and other things. Not to mention the intense resource cost.

I get the feeling that a mechanic shop would actually be a good way for someone good with the building aspect to make some money. It looks like you could do a lot of interesting optimizations and part tetris for various things. Imagining one of those car service shops but for space ships offering ship and thrust rebalancing, wire and pipe rerouting, program debugging, hatch and plate installation, hard point and subsystem mounting, ect. Just so many things someone could do for a bit of extra money besides simple mining, hauling, and product sale.

Most player stations are somewhere around 45k away from origin station. There pretty expensive to build though so don’t know that many are very large yet though.

Make a proper spaceship first. One to your liking. Room to walk around and store things the way you want. then work for the space station. That way you'll have enough storage for materials to build it rather than just making tons of small trips. A nice big spaceship means a lot less trips. And a chance for you to get creative and learn about the parts.

I'm going to say start with the tools and weapons bench line and work on tools.. that way you have more options for getting research points for the Advanced station stuff.. also I'd bet big time that you'll need those tools to be able to build the station. So there's likely no point researching the station stuff as you'll almost certainly not have the tools and what have you to assemble anything. That's almost 1000% the reason why it's called Advanced and has the highest cost to research. (edit) And your likely going to need one those tools to fix whatever damage you did to your ship at the end there...

Yellow module in back is a simple GPS system, waiting for some clever person to write the code for it.. the other three grey plates next to it are for three more yellow module which then makes a advanced GPS system..

stations have shield implemented. you can normally bolt a plate to the ground inside the ship and then bolt the craft bench to the plate, instead of bolting it to the beams like you were trying to do

I'd go with the advanced crafting bench! Then all of the tools! It's better to be fully equipped, than not! I learned that from you playing Subnautica! After that, research the space station, & just build your own space station! Just because you do the research, doesn't mean you have to build it! Just grind through the research, until you get the space station research done! & build your own space station!!! I wonder if you can dock your spaceships at your space station!? Also, eventually you could tear down the small spaceship, & sell off what you don't need! Or, use to improve your space station, or your new spaceship!

Anything inside of the safe zone will not take damage...you can slam into the station at full speed and nothing will happen (except it's really loud). Outside the safe zone even little collisions will break your ship.

those pads are hard connect pints that you can use to connect different things and machinery etc. buy a pipe tool(i think) from the auction house to fix the cables. but loved the video man, it just makes my whole day very wholesome. edit: and you should check a ship named buffalo, i've heard it's a beast of a ship.

Tons of options. But you're not thinking 3 dimensionally. Put it wherever you want it. Go outside. Remove a plate. Bolt from the outside in.

You need to modify your Transponder settings to see signals from other ships and stations. I think there are around 20 to 30 player stations at this moment.

a station in your state of the game is useless^^ since you need the materials that spawn outside the safezone i would go for a decent miner with mining alsers first, farm stuff and then either jpion or create a company, witht that company its usefull to have a station.

and btw, inside the safezone are ships immune to damage^^ you cant damage any other ship or your ship (ram an astroid or smth) inside the safezone. when your outside and you ram an asteroid xD goodbye, my engines did not work anymore cause a pipe got destroyed

Hey Z1, I'm going to get the same ship. You don't need to attach the workbench to the ship. It can just float next to you. I tried to attaching mine to the starter ship and I couldn't get to work, its broke. I tried to bolt it down too. I had pieces fly away. I have two starter ships now.

With the space station, i believe if you build it in the safe zone with the first core then you won't be able to be raided but if you are in the unsafe zone then i think thats where people can raid and destroy it

Imagine you can go 1000km per second, of course only if there is no limit to the speed and it will be extremely expensive and the ship will be very heavy and it will probably drain the fuel rods and propellant really fast

Fuel rods are used when the GeneratorRate is above 0. Since the battery was full, the Autopower script lowered the GeneratorRate to 0. The Shutdown button is just the manual way of overriding the Autopower script and setting the GeneratorRate to 0. You can see the script at 13:23
