10:15 in case you didn't notice, right after talking about resource canisters auto transferring items to printers, the moment you moved the tungsten carbide, the glass and plastic moved to the printers automatically.

Yes, but that's his problem. They don't feed directly to the printers, they have to have a space available for them to start moving. The canisters would be 10x better if that was fixed, but also if you didn't get half a resource if you stopped it whilst it was outputting.

Atom is right, he had to move the tungsten carbide to have them auto transfer, what he wants is the outputs going straight into the printer instead of needing space.

I'm torn because on one hand this is organized but on the other you have to go to each canister individually when you print. I want a set up where the printers or chemistry lab can pull from any of the canisters.

Could've almost doubled the speed with one more arm in the first spot and empty medium silos on each station. The likelihood of anything being sucked in by the first station is high enough to offset the missing throughput down the line.

To make a printer pick a resource from a canister, you need at least one open or unused slot (tier 1) on the same platform, the easiest way is to put empty storage on the platform. Also, to create an auto loop for your soil centrifuge use 2 button repeaters "talking to each other" and a branch to the centrifuge.

This is a thing of simple beauty. It inspired my current project in 2024, with two rail lines automatically deliver 10 resources from two separate sites. From resin and compound to aluminium alloy and hydrazine. I just need to reset the 10 thumpers every now and then.

Auto byte tip. Research samples re-spawn. Auto arms can pick samples off structures. Have the arms place them into research chambers and vio la, auto research when you're away. Great on Glacio or Atrox where samples in caves, especially near the core of the planet a worth a ton.

Z1, look more closely at the circles! They represent the limits of the auto-arm's reach(minimum & maximum)! You would need 2 auto-arms to cover that entire platform! Otherwise, you'd have to build the 1 platform you don't like, & lots of them!

Why aren't you using the medium canister sorting system you came up with on your first auto sort video? One extra large c, three large silos, and medium canisters. Didn't even need an auto arm, if you didn't mind doing one silo at a time. Was there an issue with that design? I was planning to replicate it soon, as it was so compact.

Medium, large are too expensive and hold an unnecessary amount of resources... They are good for auto mining where you dont visit often, kinda like a gas station to go and fill up.

Yo Z, the printers CAN grab things automatically for themselves, but they need a free space to do it. Not sure why, but it works flawlessly on my basic AS LONG AS I have a space for them to jump to before they jump to the printer. :)
