I feel like this is Joel's full and honest admission. He hasn't always been honest with Ellie, but his promise that night gave Ellie gave her the hope of repairing their relationship with that. She doesn't think she's capable of it but she would like to try. This is reminded to her by how much Abby reminds her of Joel, carrying a young kid to safety even if it kills her.

originally I was so upset with the ending. How could Ellie have gone through so much? but the longer I sit with it, the more perfect the ending is. It's bitter sweet, but there is hope there for her and for Abby. I loved Joel, but I learned to love Abby too. And I learned to keep loving my Ellie even though she was making so many bad and difficult decisions. This game was so emotionally taxing, and this series was the first real video games I ever played. And now I am ruined because nothing else can compete. Such a beautiful story and beautiful music. Thanks for uploading the video.

the game as a whole is flawless. at first i wanted to return it as soon as joel was killed. i hated it, but after playing it another time, and a couple more times i truly recognized the true beauty and meaning behind the 2 games, and it couldn’t have been better. Abby became my favorite character after playing a while, her character, her attitude, her story, and how it relates to joel and ellie with her and lev. the day the last of us part 3 comes out is the day i get no sleep

Damn I couldn't have said it any better! I didn't get to play it until this year since, I literally went out and bought a PS5 just to play it lol, and I was not disappointed one bit! I don't know why people hated on it so much. After playing it I've been itching for a story driven game like the TLOU series but nothing has relieved that itch since those games. Sure GoW , GoT and all are amazing but something was missing for me. I just hope Naughty Dogs New game lives up to the hype!

Just finished my third run on TLOU2. I gotta say, it still hurts. But i needed to understand all of this. Why Ellie pushed that far. Why Tommy became so bitter. Why Abby has another chance ? And to this point i only reach two theories for the future. The 1st one would be the easy path, meeting and playing a new character almost 15 years since TLOU2. A brand new arc with exclusively new characters and almost no known faces except for the end to tie in the last two games. The 2nd one would show us some light. Again 15 years into the future, playing an older Ellie and Abby. The two of them meeting for the first time since forever. Lev would already be dead, leaving Abby angry and sad, finally understanding Ellie. But even though they hate each other, they would be forced to cowork together to face the biggest threat they could imagine.Very slowly understanding each other, protecting each other, caring for each other to the point they don't want to be alone anymore. And for the big finish, as Ellie is after a lifetime of survival, about to die, the duo discovers a couple of other survivors, both immuned to the cordiceps. Even in lies, Joel was right. And Ellie can die with a smile on her face, her skin doesn't hurt her anymore. As she burries Ellie, Abby promise she will take the immuned duo to a place where they can help saving the world, restoring Ellie meaning of life. The Last of Us will stay in my heart forever. The characters, their stories, they live with me. Now all of this is purely nonsense i know. But since i finished this game, i'm in the dark. I need a light. I need a firefly.
