I'm glad the knife 🔪 worked out for you in the end after some adjustments , the spine was a serious minus because everyone can't adjust a knife spine and in my view should be there from brand new out of the box if its a survival knife , the sheath leather or kydex its personal preference, I would probably go for kydex as its no problem keeping clean and weather and outdoors resistant , if the knife is handle top heavy then that could cause a problem like you said with chopping as the blade needs to be the heavy end which is a minus if you are working with wood but the heavy handle will give good control in the hand , and if you went hunting good 👍 control with the handle would be a bonus. Yes its not perfect, but if I wanted perfect (for me) it would be a case of having one made. That would be way more expensive.

Glad its more comfortable than you expected 😊 I sharpened the spine on a mora once, was great wirh my phero rod till i broke the blade accidently battoning thru a nail in a piece of wood 😂

Not having a go, but why do people worry about a knife this size not chopping, it's not designed to chop, to cut through thicker pieces of wood ,use a baton and beaver chew it. I have this knife and the ultra outdoor, both excellent well constructed knives. 👍🏻

Because sometimes its needed if you don't have a axe with you. This model is marketed as a survival knife, it might have to do a bit of everything.

​@@frogmaster83As I say not having a go, but you don't need to chop, a beaver chew works fine, for me it's like complaining about your silky pocket boy not being able to cut a large tree in half. The right tool right job.👍🏻

Hi. Hope you are well. Those sheaths are great for attaching to your chest strap, upside down, for easy access when needed in a hurry, hence the great retention. I think that’s why they were invented. Special Forces, naval seals, Arnie Swartznegger/ The Predator sort of thing. All the best.👍🏾😉
