Rico Alexander even though Zab has lost his cool in the ring a couoetimes, at other times he’s been a pretty genuine, humble fighter, I met him during a fight he was promoting on the Miss coast after Katrina and I walked right up to him dapped him and thanked them for putting on the fights for the gulf coast and he seemed genuinely gracious of the exchange.

I was at the Zab vs Floyd fight. He dominated the first 2 rounds. Celebrities were in abundance. Then years later I ran into him coming out of the club in Encore in Vegas. I was faded and rolled right up to him mouthing the words "Zab Judah" lol. His people moved out the way and his eyes widened. In retrospect I almost got KO'd stiff coming out the club. I walked up and gave him dap and told him, you're the only person that knocked Floyd down. That was not a slip. He smiled back and thanked me. My favorite fighter ever. Had the most natural talent: speed, power, and a south paw. He was born to box. God bless another favorite son of Brownsville, Brooklyn. Zab "Super" Judah. Good looking out Vlad!

Picking the wife out some flowers a few years ago, I ran into Zab at a flower shop just outside of Detroit. No one in there seemed to recognize him other than me. Dude was extremely laid back to the staff and other customers as we waited for our orders. When he left I told everyone who he was and as a lady confirmed it was him after looking his name up online. As unassuming he was to them, it made me realize how much of a nightmare he'd be for an unsuspecting wannabe tough guy.

Zab’s impression of his dad is so hilarious and spot on!! Me and my friends used to get a kick out of Yoel in the corner and how animated and fired up he would be dropping f bombs! 😂 great stuff. I met zab years later at a fight he was promoting in the area of Mississippi not long after hurricane katrina. I thanked them for putting on a boxing show for entertainment at the time people were still hitting and cleaning and rebuilding their properties. Zab was very approachable, gracious and humble. Cool Dude.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! This is classic!! Love the candidness Zab!! I love this!!! And after hearing the story, I could see why he’d say it was his toughest fight even though he won. Floyd never hurt him badly, he just outboxed and out pointed him. I had no idea he wanted to stop the Ward fight. These are things you’d never think about from the outside looking in. I actually saw that Ward fight and remember him being hurt and moving around. Zab is a legend in my hometown of NYC. I followed his entire career. Great clip here. Love it. Much respect Zab...

Pernell Whitaker was an excellent fighter. One of my favorite fighters to watch. Hands down he was the best defensive fighter I’ve ever seen but just because he had great defense didn’t mean he couldn’t throw hands. He could throw hands with the best of them he just wasn’t reckless with his punches. He also had great conditioning. Sweet Pea was amazing one of the all time greats.

Maaan, I'm so shocked at how humble, honest and likeable he seems to be....During his prime, all I saw from him other than the talent was the typical cockiness and trash talking that we seem to see in so many boxers over the years....Stoke for this full interview...

you talking about a alpha male in his prime years. of course hes gonna be cocky. it comes with the job. most fighters are humble but wont back down when push comes to shove. zab is past all that now. hes super chill just like most fighters after they stop. he has nothing to prove anymore.

All that cocky stuff is about selling tickets and creating hype. A fighter needs confidence but they are always fearful and humble as they know defeat, failure, serious injury or worse can visit them anytime in the ring. It's a good point you make though, i love listening to boxers outside of the ring and away from the promotional hype as they are more often than not some of the most respectful and humble people you will ever have the pleasure of listening to.
