I remember my mother; she was a beautiful Korean lady. She used something similar when I was a young girl. She was able to aquire this mascara when I started wearing makeup, about 40+ years ago. I would use it and I loved it. I haven't seen this since then until now. Thank you, Zabrena, for going out of the box on make-up and showing other brands that are not main steam. About the bad reviews/difficulty removing the mascara: well it’s WATERPROOF so offcourse you can’t remove it with micellar/other waterbased products. It NEEDS to be oilbased to work. I’m genuinely surprised people don’t know this.
@farmvetsph2 жыл бұрын
They are probably not used to "waterproof" which is actually waterproof.

Right, it makes me chuckle when people talk about how difficult it is to remove a mascara or liquid lip...just use oil! I have an oil based makeup remover from colourpop, but when I don't have that, I just grab the grapeseed oil from the kitchen and everything melts right off 🤷🏽♀️

You beat me to it! The first wand mascara that I remember was the Helena Rubinstein's. Didn't think anyone else remembered it. I think it came out in the late 50s or early 60s. I never liked bristle wands. As Zabrena said, you really can't get close with bristles or it tends to get on your upper lid or bridge of nose. Hope this starts a trend with less expensive brands.

I believe this is a remake from the mascara in the 1920s. There is a lady named Laura from Canada that collects vintage and antique makeup and does reviews on the way people did their makeup in the 1800s, etc. She does reviews on modern day makeup too. Anyways, I believe Max Factor had a mascara like this as well as Helen Rubinstein and the Westmores. The Westmore guy was back in the 1940s and between him and Mr Maximillian Factorovich or Max factor was his shortened name, almost all Hollywood starlets had Mascara like this to their lashes. In black and white film the little spidery lashes photograph sooo beautifully. Joan Crawford has many photos that used this kind of mascara.
