Differences between the C6 Z06 & C6 Grand Sport - Z06 has lighter chassis made from aluminum -Z06 is a fixed roof car. No Targa like the Grand Sport -Z06 has different ratios in the diff & trans -Z06 has stiffer sway bars -Z06 has different leaf springs with stiffer spring rate -Z06 has a different shifter box -Z06 has carbon fiber fenders -Different duct design in front wide body fender -Grand Sport offers automatic & convertible options but they dont come with same track performance add ons. -Z06 has dry sumped LS7 but many people prefer the Dry Sumped Grand Sport LS3. It has a longer forged crank and on stock heads, internals and block can make & handle much more power. Stock LS7s are considered ticking time bombs due to a valve guide design issue which causes them to drop the valve into the cylinder and destroy the motor. Also the bore spacing and thinner cylinder walls of the stock block LS7 isn't ideal for boost. The dry sump LS3 is a boost monster and arguably the best SBE GM has made to mod. Both motors were hand built by master techs only at a specific plant (ZR1,Z06, Manual hard top Grand Sports all get this treatment) -Also important to note this is only for manual hard top Grand Sports. The convertible & automatic cars do not have dry sumped LS3s. Also they dont have all the same coolers as the Z06 like the targa manual Grand Sports do.

Z06 is aluminum frame ls7 and different gearing compared to grandpa special(grandsport) galvanized steel frame ls3 same gearing as z51 or c5 z06, can remove roof(less structural support) and front fenders are different 🤷‍♀️
