I had a big block very very similar to this in my 1969 chevelle... It took me over 5yrs of hard work and sacrifice just to get everything together and about another year to assemble and engineer everything together, reinforce the frame, sound proof, ect... I got cancer and told it was stage4 and I didn’t have much time left and insurance wouldn’t cover any treatment other than palliative treatment... I had to sell my car to pay for my treatments and cover my out of pocket expenses... that absolutely crushed my soul, and I have a hard time even watching videos of nice cars and killer big block chevys like this... after much radiation, the removal of my entire right lung, and some heart damage I am lucky to be alive... my suggestion to my fellow gear heads and speed freaks is to enjoy what you have and use it every chance you can... don’t put off or waste one second you don’t have to and go get it done today and start enjoying it... don’t let life take any more from you than necessary.... there is no way I could ever regain what I had and it is really soul crushing... all you have is here and now, there is no guarantee for tomorrow...

@TheDicklander4 жыл бұрын
With my experience I watch diesels get killed left and right non stop lmfao. Imo this is more reliable
@94XJ4 жыл бұрын
@parkerbethke A 7.3 is reliable but not exactly a powerful engine on horsepower or torque which contributed to their reliability. A 7.3 diesel making about 500lbft of torque and well below 300hp (after 2000, they made less torque than a dang ecoboost and as much horsepower as the 4.0 in my old Jeep for the same years!) isn't seeing a great deal of stress on the internals. Peak cylinder pressures weren't all that high (for a diesel at least) which makes for happy rods and bearings, plus the turbos would take ages to spool also reducing the high pressure for long durations at low RPM. I mean...Ford threw the same auto behind the 7.3 that they put on the 5.4. That should say something right there!
