I think VCS might be my favorite GTA. Not as graphically sophisticated as the others but game play wise, they expanded and actually wanted to do more with the core game. Loved the expansion on businesses also

And you have your own gang, you start out as an operative of the vice city military, and then lose it three missions in, you can ACTUALLY GRAB people in melee combat, there's this big generic feel of the eighties even before Tommy Vercetti. That's actually really fuckin cool

Zac, please do top 10 craziest (and probably) most insane characters in GTA history. IMO, Toni Cipriani was my top pick. I know we have Eddie Low (who's completely psychotic) Billy Grey, Trevor Phillips, but Toni was unhinged and calculating despite always keeping his cool. I actually think he might be on FIB's most wanted list. Surely if this happened in real life Toni would be a top ten wanted fugitive. Blowing up Fort Stauton must have killed thousands. And the killing of Giovanni Casa was downright monstrous. I think Toni is more of a dangerous being than Trevor.

I remember wanting a PSP just for this game (PS2s were very expensive in my country and later even PS3s). When I got it, I was hooked. Don't know how much time I spent on this game and played multiplayer over the WLAN of the PSP 3000. Had a blast with it for so many years. It was a definitive game on the PSP. Visually it wasn't the best but man, was this game a masterpiece.

Im glad you see the game in such a light as well. I loved the addition to vice city's storyline and it was an awesome buildup to the events of the original vice city. Was always a shame they didnt go ahead and make a version of San Andreas (Maybe only Los Santos and some surrounding country?) that would fit on a PSP UMD in order to create a prior storyline to that game as well. A pipedream now of course, but that "the introduction" DVD was cool but not enough.

0:33 you are wrong, it didn't flop... it was a PSP exclusive game... 6 million copies for a game on a console that sold only around 20 million units at the time is excellent... (of course now the sales of the PSP are at 86 million units as of 2013) of course when it was ported to the PS2 it didn't sell that much, probably because GTA San Andreas was just miles better and bigger, and because the 7th gen of consoles had already started a year prior. for a handheld game GTA VCS was amazing, but i did think LCS was much more fun tbh. Chinatown wars was kinda crap though tbh, you can consider most sale figures of Chinatown wars to come from the App Store and PlayStore, i'm unaware of anyone other than me that bought Chinatown wars for his PSP, or anyone at all that bought Chinatown wars for his Nintendo DS (which lets be honest, the PSP version is the best one of this game out of DS, PSP and Mobile, and i have all three of those)

Perhaps in terms of sales figures (across both PSP and PS2), but I don't consider VCS to be a flop at all. It was a welcome addition. Sure, in many ways it was a regression from SA, as was LCS, but SA used a newer version of the game engine. Both LCS and VCS used the version that VC was built on, hence why there are so many similarities with it (apart from the obvious). The two biggest things for me from VC were the atmosphere and the music. Both were equally as good in VCS.

VCS is by far my fav GTA3 canon game. Loved he empire building, great story and the best soundtrack in all GTA games. Would have sold much more copies if it wasnt a PSP/PS2 only game at the time and deserves to be included in the remastered GTA3 set of games. LSC should also be included, just to complete the set but isnt anywhere near as good as the other 4 games that make up the GTA3 story
