There are some, if you look. Also, having access to pigment information prevents us from having to do this with every single item since we can guess based on that info.

I just bought a 12 color box of Turner paints, as my first ever set of paints. I was super nervous but thanks to them I was able to find your videos and thanks to your videos I am feeling a little more confident about starting this journey:)) Thank you Zaccura!

can acryl gouache be kept stay wet in palette for long like regular Gouache? can we keep acryl gouache wet on the brushes like regular gouache?
@Zaccura9 ай бұрын
Yes it can stay in the stay wet palette! I've kept it in there for nearly a month and it was still usable (though wouldn't recommend that long lol.) And yes, you can and should keep the paint wet on the brushes, if it dries it won't be able to be washed off.😊

You can fix that masking tape residue with some lighter fluid btw. Thanks for the great video. It was really helpful.

I think the mileage varies on mixing regular with acrylic gouache. I made the mistake of trying to get by using a regular permanent white W&N designer gouache for a portrait and that was a terrible idea. The reason I want to go with acrylic (as a line art, sketch, digital non-painty person lol) is that I've heard it doesn't change to a totally different colour than expected when dry. I don't like that at all with regular gouache. It didn't occur to me using regular white gouache was going to TOTALLY mess with my portrait mixing my perfect skin tone only for it to go totally nuts. Kept trying to go over it and ended up over working it to death.

Ahh I hadn't thought about the drying differences! I can see that posing some unexpected issues when mixing different brands/types of gouache together. It's true this Turner acryl gouache doesn't shift in color as much when dry, which is nice (it still does a little, but not a lot)

wow, this gouache has held up really well! I recently got some holbein acrylic gouache and I can't wait to try it, I've never used acrylic gouache before. If I like it, I'll definitely check out turner next time 😊

This test is so appreciated!! I love Turner acryl gouache. I think it's worth a test to mix acrylics & acryl gouache. My big tube of white went bad because I scooped leftover paint into the tube... 🥲 Also Happy New Year!! 🎆✨

Awesome! I wonder what colors you would pick, if you would make a compact travel palette, what 16 colors would you bring? And another question would be what colors would you want to source separately that maybe do not come in this 24 set, I can imagine more white, but how about skin tones and or pinkish and purple colors?
@Zaccura8 ай бұрын
For a compact palette, I'd probably bring between 6-10 colors + black and white. Cold & warm versions of each of the primaries for mixing (6 colors total), plus a couple greens because I don't really like mixing those myself. And then maybe 1 or 2 random colors that I just really enjoy for no other reason. I actually use very few colors when I paint and mostly like mixing myself. Colors I'd want to source separately would probably be a nice vibrant purple that is lightfast, or the reds and blues to mix my own. The reds & blues in this set are nice, but they don't mix into a very nice vibrant violet, and the violet in the set is fugitive. Other than that I feel like I've got everything I need in the set and more honestly.
@SkywalkFPV8 ай бұрын
@@Zaccura Awesome that makes total sense.. Thank you for reaching out! Ohh and yes the violet in that set is indeed fugitive, thanks for the in depth lightfast test on this set that was nice.. Do note that there are Turner Japanesque colors available separate, that does have 361 j.violet and is rated ** lightfast - would be a good replacement.. Turner also has special 164 magenta and 165 violet 'mixing' colors that are also lightfast =) Cheers!
