I’m a fan of Zach Bryan not crazy about the album but I do think he’s good. I think there are many artists doing better things and are more deserving of the spotlight but I think Jason is right. Most of the people who listen found him on social media and don’t know there’s other people in this genre and they think it’s the best thing they’ve ever heard.

I listened to it a half-dozen times yesterday and this morning. I was impressed upon first listen, but the album faded from there. It's one of those albums where almost all the songs are good, but almost none of them are great. In order to make an impact with a sound that's already been done to death, you need capital "G" great songs, and this LP just doesn't quite get there. It's also too long at 63 minutes. I'm in a generous mood today, so I'll give it 3.5 stars, but I just as easily could've given it 3 stars. Best songs: "Oak Island," "Memphis; The Blues," "Towers," "Sandpaper"

Appalachian country-rock is the latest thing. Raw, sensitive, and soulful. I listened to a few of his "best of" songs and skipped this latest album, and he's pretty good. Why let myself in for heartache and my own drunken spiral by listening to his latest "no unique sound"? I think J. D. Vance got his start singing in a similar fashion before his book and VP selection. After a while, listening is like someone took a knife, baby, edgy and dull and cut a six-inch valley through the middle of my skull

I liked it a lot. I thought it was a bit better than the self-titled from last year actually, though it doesn't have a standout song on it like "I Remember Everything".

Talk about Country malaise, none of this gave me the urgency of a “Born to Run” wanted the vocal to open up, it didn’t. Like everything in Pop it’s image, he look like he just got out the County 😂 Here to say I’ve a lot of homework for 94’ due to Jason’s unique nuanced selections, thank you Jason

Although I somewhat agree with your take, I will point out he is a little unusual in th genre because his sound is less polished and he is extremely prolific, which is his weakness. But he does his own thing, which I can appreciate.

I do not buy what this dude is selling at all. Sure, he's not terrible but I listened to his last album and found it completely unmemorable and not very engaging. I don't plan to bother with this one. I don't need to waste another hour of my life. But yes, at least better than Noah Kahan. The hype around that guy I REALLY don't get at all.
