been waiting all night for this reaction! love this song. when he mentions a David’s Heart i believe he is referencing to David and Goliath (as to the world being a giant) and he doesn’t have the courage to face the world.

Such a good lyrical song. At the David and Goliath part in the Bible David fights Goliath (which is a giant) and I think Zach’s saying he isn’t the type to be strong enough to fight the world I would say
@cpouch87016 күн бұрын
That's what I was gonna mention too. But in the Bible, God described David as a man after his own heart, so maybe it's a double meaning of not having the heart to take on the world or pursue God

I think it’s a story of the struggle a man feels to face the world, support their family, swallow their pride, keep their personal problems hidden and push forward. There’s a struggle a lot of men feel to push their personal desires, feelings, and struggles aside to be the man their family needs. He talks about acting childish and I think that’s the feeling you have when you realize you’ve put yourself ahead of your duty as a father/husband. It’s the guilt you feel. My thoughts.

David is characterized as being a man after God’s own heart! And yes the David he mentions is the same one from the story of David and Goliath. It’s also awesome how he compares the world to being a giant like Goliath was.

I think “the time for rest ain’t now, cause the kids need fed” refers back to his desire for children which he doesn’t have now but plans to in the future. He’s gotta strike while the iron is hot and make as much money as he can right now so that he can spend time with his kids in the future, which is why he’s writing songs that he doesn’t have lyrics for. I think he has used nearly all the ideas that he has had for songs and is struggling with writers block and trying to find inspiration in the small things.

God made a covenant with David and they promised to each other that if David built the house of the Lord, then the Lord would establish David's kingdom forever (Israel). He also promised David that the Messiah would come from David's lineage, which is connected to his kingdom enduring forever (2 Samuel 7). But David's heart wasn't right and he shed so much blood in war and caused so many people to die that the Lord felt that David shouldn't be the one to build His house. So the Lord told David that he would have a son named Solomon, and that Solomon would be the one to build the house of the Lord. In 1 Kings 9 and 2 Chronicles 5, Solomon finished building the house of the Lord, and the Lord blessed Solomon with wisdom, discernment, as well as riches and honor. Solomon's heart was right with the Lord, and because of this, God fulfilled His covenant with David and Solomon and God's kingdom and David's kingdom will live forever.

Zac Bryan is a helluva talent but he's gone Taylor Swift imo. And what I mean by that is he is fucking up and fucking up relationships as a muse.The difference is he boozes too much and cheats rather than just moves on in relationships. Hope the dude grows up before it's too late because the talent is there without all the drama.
