@@RichieCampano Yes, and size is the only thing remotely similar. Who cares if they are the same size, they aren't the same player. How many points did Tacko average for his career in college? There are going to be justifiable questions about Edey's ability to defend in space which is a crucial skill in the NBA today for big men, but to compare him to Fall because they are of similar build and size is arbitrary. Edey is much better today than Fall ever was, and his ceiling is a lot higher, they are in no way similar prospects, Edey is much more fluid than Fall, and that is an independent quality of size.

Teams will take him out of the paint defensively, defending in the perimeter and in space will be the crucial thing he needs to be able to do to get a big role and have an imapct in the NBA. No one cares about an efficient 15ppg from a center anymore if they are a minus defensively. I have no doubt he'll have a role as a bench player regardless, but that will be the key for him to become a starter or potential star.

This guy can dominate possessions in the NBA, specially during regular season where most players don't want to mess too much against such a dominating body with skills. But in the play-offs, it's going to be difficult to play him for a moment, every weakness is exploited and even as a drop big guy you have to catch up on fast breaks and cover lot of ground in set offenses. I wish him well in the pros tough, I always loved profiles like this, maybe he would get more chances to express his talents in the Euroleague rather than the NBA.

Edey will be very difficult to slow down if Johnson guards him 1-1 as he outweighs him by a good 70 pounds. I expect Utah St to play a box around him and dare Purdue's guards to shoot. We'll see. Now if Johnson can shot the 3 like he did against TCU it poses a serious matchup problem for Purdue. Painter doesn't want Edey coming out to defend as it would open up lanes for Utah St to drive so he'd have to put a smaller player (Kaufman Renn) on Johnson. Purdue doesn't have many individual defenders and we rely on help/traps on dynamic guards.
