I’ve watched this Edey kid for years. He’s got heart. He’s smart. Very coachable. His skill level has been increasing tremendously year to year. There is a spot for him in the NBA. What will make or break him in the NBA is the coaching and mentors he gets. If he ends up with duds well that’s all she wrote.

Edey will be mostly good situationally during the course of an NBA season but will quickly get exposed against multi layered bigs like Jokic, Wemby, Chet, Embid, AD etc

Nothing against Edey but he will not make it long term in the NBA outside of a backup center role. He will be a defensive liability against almost all centers/pfs with any skill or quickness and his offensive game is super limited

Shaq was the last true post up guy that won a ring. Jokic embiid Giannis and Davis all provide something outside of pure post ups and Edey doesn’t really do that. He could have a long career but it won’t be as dominate as the elite bigs he’s being mentioned with here

This guy can play. There's no way this kid can't do what Zubach is doing every night. That's 15 and 10. Tim Duncan was slow and clunky too, Always the last one up the court. I think he turned out okay. This kids won't be that, but he can find a place.

The NBA is boring with small ball and 3 points shots. This has been the best NCAA basketball in a long time. Bigs with traditional point guards. The NBA needs to slow the game down that is why the numbers are down. By the 3 quarter some team has shot 40 3 pointers points and they are by 20 points.

Except it will still happen. Edey will still be by far the biggest player every single night in the NBA. Plenty of teams like to put a 6-9 or 6-10 guy at center nowadays. Heck Draymond is only 6-7 and plays the 5 in spurts.

Hartenstein, Sengun, and Lively? Wipe the floor with Edey? Give me a break. We are talking about one of the most dominant and decorated college bigs of all time. He may not match up well against some of the guys who can shoot like Kat or Wemby but most don't. He won't have to worry about Giannis as they don't play the same position.

Colin’s lack of Basketball IQ is showing here. I watched that whole game, and while his numbers were good, he was slow footed and beaten at the rim on the defensive end many times by Tennessee. While he has been dominant in college, with the athleticism and skills of the bigs in the nba, I think he would be the definition of big for nothing. Think Boban Marjanovich, while we all fans of Bobi, he’s more entertainment and locker room value than on the court value. That’s Edey in my opinion.

Right mow Boban, Tacko are great, Wemby is a unicorn and Porzingis is good but he can shoot. Its a way and see with this kid, but i dont see him dominating. Hes too slow
