He’s got a point. You don’t need a sub. Just give the teams an extra interchange. But the AFL has a thirst for entertainment over everything else - they want the players worn out, “a battle of attrition”.

@@clintoneddy2860 - You can still create a winning culture through losses and draws; rolling over and getting belted is what creates a soft underbelly. Obviously the win/loss ratio should be in your favor but a draw against the Pies is a huge effort

Sport began in the collasuems of roam ....when gladiators went to battle...there was no draw ...you either left alive or dead 🤔...so why do we think a draw is ok becasue sport is about winning and losing...how you celebrate or how you recover from a loss. @@Not1Dimensional No guarantee that Collingwood scores after it goes to the middle. Especially since Essendon was dominating the centre clearances all day. It would've actually worked out in their favour, whereas Collingwood were gaining more out of ping-poning it out of Essendon's D50 when all the Bomber players were back there. Nevertheless, the end result is not just the final 2 minutes, or the first 30, it's the whole match. Both teams should have took their chances way earlier if they wanted to win the match, and didn't, hence the draw.
