I'll never forget running into Zach Thomas in a Barnes and Noble in his prime. He looked like a solid block of muscle and was thumbing through this teeny tiny book. It was comical, but we were so awestruck as kids that we just kind of looked at him. He gave us a nod, and then we ran away to our parents to tell them about him. Great memory. In terms of heart, he is the best Miami Dolphin that ever put on the uniform.

My favourite all time player. Still have his jersey from back in the day and wear it when I go to games. (fits better now than it did then 😂) Those of us who watched Zach on a weekly basis were always living vicariously through his achievements. Always the underdog he showed that you can become what you want to be despite people's preconceived ideas about what should be. He was everyman and every fan, especially on game day. Congratulations #54. Never been so happy to see someone get the recognition they deserve. You are the best.

Amazing speech! I was crying at the end just like him! He has always been an underdog and made it all the way to the Hall of Fame! Zach Thomas never won a championship but he always gave the game everything he had! He has proven hard work does pay off! He is an American Hero in my opinion!
