Wilson sometimes reminds me of Aaron Rodgers (not saying he's gonna be Aaron, because Aaron is one of the greatest to ever do it but I am saying he's got a similar play style). He has a knack for throwing his receivers open and extending a play. He seems to have an extremely deep understanding of the field and can read defenses like an open book and take full advantage of their flaws. His arm talent is seriously in consideration for number one in the QB class (and with a class with T-Law and Fields.... geez). He's gonna be good, as long as NFL blitzes don't shake his confidence or wreck his play style.

The out post you were breaking down around the 6:30 mark looks to me like he saw his #1 not looking for the ball on the break to the post which would suggest to me they are looking to throw that post downfield and it’s considered dead when the safety runs over to cover it. He then looks to the out which he felt confident in because of his talent and the fact that the defender didn’t have a understanding of where the #2 was behind him. I definitely think the post should have been like a bang in that open seam, but to me it just doesn’t look like that is how they practiced it.

Ultimately, it’s very hard to tell whose going to excel and it’s a crapshoot every year. If I were the Jets though (as a Jets fan) I’d go with Wilson.

@@TheQBSchool who do you think the better prospect is?

@@JPaw-ud5pk I'm a Jets fan too and I rather us go Fields. Wilson is very risky in the sense that he only had one good year against subpar competition, has had shoulder surgery, and is small framed. Fields just fits the modern NFL QB to a tee. The Indiana game and North Western game isn't too concerning when you go back and look at them. He also lit them up the year before. People forget Fields had a Heisman like year in 2019 and this year he led his team to the National Championship game. He fits our scheme better than Wilson too. Wilson is fit for a Air Raid system like the Chiefs run. Fields more accurate on short to intermediate passes.

That play where he gets his receiver in trouble on the high glance was good positioning by the safety. He was watching Wilson's eyes from the back side view. If Wilson throws the slot slant that safety lights him up. Good play by the safety. Caviat to the play if Zach leads the safety to the post the slant is WIDE open. Tough to make that call without knowing like you said what the reads were etc. Good play by the safety, still a dangerous throw. Just my two cents.
@spiderwebb2223 жыл бұрын
It was, but it's a lot less dangerous (to the receiver) to throw the slant there, because of the angles. The safety might get a hit on him but it will be on a guy running away from him, not right into him for a head on collision.
@joehebert7893 жыл бұрын

Mahomes-lite but not in a good way when the play is further down the field. When his lower body isn't right, the ball dies, whereas Mahomes will still get the ball where it needs to go. @joehebert7893 жыл бұрын
I think the answer to Wilson or Fields will probably come down to scheme fit and supporting cast at the next level. That said, there is still value in having players ranked pre-draft so that their landing spot doesn't over- or under-value them by too much. Those scouting for fantasy football need to see the difference between the better NFL player and the better fantasy player. No matter how well one grinds the statistics or how much film is watched, analysis will sometimes be wrong due to many outside factors. I don't know how accurately someone can analyze the risk that comes with a player, especially from outside the NFL. Let's face it, if this stuff was black and white, and predictions were infallible, this wouldn't be fun at all.

The Chicago Bears should be on this kid like flies on shit. I dont even want to hear about mortgaging their future picks either. In this league if you dont have a QB your franchise has no future. You can thank Goodell and his rules committee for that. Wilson makes the throws he should make and also throws that make scratch your head wonder how in the hell did he make that throw. I like the mechanics when he has time to set his feet. He seems to be able to process the 3 basic reads of the often used BUNCH formation. I like he appears to maintain his composure when that first read is covered. Then theres the "IT" factor or intangible & what I mean by this is that he makes the players around him better. Which is one of the top things I look for with any player. I believe Wilson is the real deal and will thrive in an NFL that is hellbent on building around youth that Wilson will only be a year or two removed from playing against.
