Dwayne should have never blocked access to Shazam. Captain Marvel (Shazam) is Black Adam’s counterpart, not Superman. The goal was to get all three of them in a movie- just like the animated feature. I just don’t understand why Gunn didn’t completely cut bait-I think that made things worse. You keep the Flash, Shazam, Aquaman and WW, but NOT Superman? 🤷🏾‍♀️ It was silly. He really underestimated the audience on that one. And to make matters worse, he belittled Zack’s fan base-who were instrumental in the success of all of these films. What WB did was basically destroy hope from the outset. They shot all of their renaming projects in the foot shortly before Black Adam’s release by announcing the reboot and canning Henry Cavill. And they did Cavill dirty-anyone who’s ever had a shitty employer was left with a bad taste in their mouths after that. So that is what set the chain of events in motion. It was the last straw for fans. There is little reason to see the films now that there’s little hope to see more of the characters the fans spent years invested in. 🤷🏾‍♀️WB doesn’t get the concept of team spirit and why it’s necessary to score a win. They want to attract more of the general audience, but you need the soul of the audience (fans) to create enough hype around a project to do that. Comic book movies are still a tough sell for the average moviegoer-but they’ll go if there’s a lot of hype, and the film is well received by audiences and critics alike. People don’t want to waste their money on something that’s not going anywhere. If you don’t have faith in a franchise and you’re promoting it, why should I?

DCU has already made some really bad decisions. The first is letting go of Henry Cavil of Superman. Henry embodies Superman. His strength, his physique, his vulnerability, his caring for humanity, his sense of justice, his debonairing good looks, and his likeability. Henry owned that role. Too bad DC doesn't see that. Then there is Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. Again, this is a great choice to play Wonder Woman. The last WW didn't fear so well because of the scrip. The 1984 idea to me suck. Gal owns that role. She just needs a great script. They need to listen to the fans.

Kind of an unnecessary shot at Zac Levi IMO….of the 4 castings (Zac, The Rock, Henry, & Ezra) only one of these four should be replaced & that’s Miller. The reason DC needed/needs leadership is to bring these three megastar actors together. They should have had a sit down with all three. As the end goal should always have been for all three to meet upon screen. Personally I’m a huge fan of all three, & it’s a shame to see this fall thru when I think all 3 were perfect castings. None of the next or past few films have anything to do with James Gunn. His run starts after Flashpoint. So why would we give up on it now? Regardless, I'm still going to see Fury of the Gods. Can't be any worse or lackluster then the last few Marvel films. James grew up and read my era of DC Comics so I will give him a decent chance. So far I'm very interested in his announcements.

Gunn is screwed, he's come in and made bad choices from the off and Dwayne Johnson is an actor (not a great one either), the studio should be dictating to him in what direction the movie is going not the other way around. Also Levi as shazam is awesome and I loved the second film

Comic book fans are impossible to please. like honestly, they are the nerdiest people you can ever find. They know all the details, and complain about it when they don't see it in the adaptation. They don't have faith nor patience. So what if black adam didn't show up in any shazam movie? Is it impossible to tie their story in further down the line? is it not something to look forward to? why give it right away if you can just tease it for very long just like how they did thanos? whatever.

The main character in Shazam not evolving as a superhero and trying to use the same character formula from the first Shazam in the second was a missed opportunity that hurt the second Shazam film. But also, maybe fans not digging the new DC direction decision by silently protesting and not supporting it's movies. There's only so much fans can take especially not being heard. Why wouldn't you bring back Henry Cavill as Superman? I thought studios were hurting for money?🤦🏽‍♀️🤑😤

So really everyone was NOT hyped af over a possible brutal fight between Adam and Superman only to end it in a stalemate. And Shazam being forced to grow his character to more serious level in order to help Superman beat his own soon to be nemesis. Ending in a neverending hatred of Teth for Shazam for interfering in his affairs as the new Wizards Champion? I thought Dwayne made a legit move that got me actually hyped for DCEU again and it was just killed off because of profit margins and powertripping corporate cliques..IMO if they would have just pushed this through it couldve set up a very interesting DCEU future.. But I guess its just me. I guess the DC fandom will get exactly what it deserves - more of the same halfass "universe" it's been getting the last decade with changing actors every 5 years.

Have black Adam and Shazam have their own movies make a Shazam Superman cross over for Shazam second movie make the first half a superman movie with him fighting black Adam, realizing since it's magic Superman cant win which in turn makes Shazam having too step in. You don't need multiple movies for that.

Bet on Ezra Miller, the one Justice League actor that most people hate and get rid of all the actors that the fans, for the most part, liked. It makes perfect sense. The only reason most people would even go to watch the Flash movie is to see Michael Keaton as Batman again. Excitement for that movie has nothing to do with its lead actor. But they're gonna bank on that movie because after Flashpoint they can have their excuse to change out all the actors. But I honestly doubt it will make their universe any more watchable, especially since they are cancelling all the actors- Cavil, Gadot, Mamoa- that made it worth watching in the first place.

I Agree it’s Pointless having Shazam and Black Adam in same movie, Shazam is to always have the Edge so makes sense to give separate movie with different back stories plus can get more movies out of Black adam because he been around longer than billy batson and it was Noted in the black adam Movie his son was the first Shazam that died so makes sense the Rock black Adam get separate movie because the wizard hasn’t chosen a new Shazam in the Black Adam universe yet since his son died

Follow the fans, or by any chance you acknowledge them and their love for the character and actor with a good story based on comic source material, then it is a win - win scenario and be profitable. If not then be "creative", go against all sentiments, build the new narrative and see how it pans out, profit or loss at the end the viewers will decide if the efforts invested is worth the money to go see it and history will be made by the projects being admired and positively reminded off in anals or it being neglected so much that it is not worth mentioning at all.

Considering the Rock was producing that movie for about 10 years it was a colossal piece of crap, Pierce Brosnan and Cavils 5 second cameo were the only good things about it. As far as I can tell all Gunn wants to do is insert his wife into every single DC property, wouldn't surprise me if she ends up in Joker 2 and the bat man 2 even though they are else world stories.
