I do this. I was running late to pick up a friend & she got massively upset. We were going to the theater. She screamed at me the whole way. I told her repeatedly that the car clock was set 12 minutes ahead of time and that we would make it on time. She was too busy screaming at me to even listen. We got there in plenty of time, in fact, others came in after we did. Due to other similar incidents, she is no longer my friend.

You’d think you were late to an emergency with her behaving like that. Life is too short to scream about arriving late to the damn theatre. Good riddance! Hope she gets some perspective.

I was never able to unravel the genetic time anxiety. To this day...early is on time, on time is late, late is unacceptable.

I also like to be 5 minutes early so if I have to be somewhere let’s say at 1:30 so then I say okay I need to be there at 1:25 and it takes 15 minutes to get there so I need to leave at 1:10 but it takes 5 minutes to get in my car so I need to leave at 1:05 and it takes 20 minutes to get ready so I need to be read to leave at 12:45 so I’ll start getting ready at 12:30.
