The Protestant church removed the Apocryphal books in the 1800s. So, yes, this is "scripture". Apologia Church is a pretty conservative Calvinist church. So they follow many of the commandments, they just pick and choose. Mostly they don’t observe what they consider the ceremonial or cultural laws. But they follow the laws regarding sexual immorality, the Ten Commandments, laws concerning assault, robbery, rape etc. Clothing laws, dietary laws, Holy Days, they would consider those cultural and not applicable. Obviously no one follows the ceremonial laws that apply to the Levitical priesthood. They would say that they love God with all their heart and mind etc and that they love their neighbor as themselves. Everyone has to look at the Torah and discern which laws apply to them, some are gendered, some apply to slaves, some to the priesthood or sacrifice system. Apologia do the same thing they are in error on where they draw their line but pretty much everyone probably has something wrong in their theology. They do a lot of very good work pushing for legislation for abolition of abortion and actually saving babies from being aborted by having a presence outside of abortion clinics and offering adoption services or maternal assistance to women seeking abortions. I think this particular church is one where it’s worth building bridges and trying to educate as opposed to just burning the bridge. Numerically they would probably agree on which laws should be followed more than they would disagree.

Do people honestly not see that they themselves are keeping the law when they: donate to charities, give clothes to shelters, don't sleep (intimately) with animals, don't sleep (intimately) with their parents, brothers, or sisters. A person is keeping the eternal law when they find a wallet and contact the owner and return it, as found. A person is keeping the law when they aren't murdering (even in their mind), stealing, or committing adultery (even in their mind). A person is keeping the law when their dog attacks another dog and they pay for the vet bills. The law is meant to guide all of us on how to live uprightly and how to live honestly with each other and what to do if something bad happens. It's a guide. An instruction manual. Who wouldn't want that!?! When you aren't lying you're keeping the law. A person is keeping the law when they aren't eating sewer rats or vultures or eagles, or cats and dogs, all unclean by the way, including pig! People keep the law daily but they don't recognize they are or don't realize they are. There is so much more however to the eternal Law, and when you actively live it out/walk it out, and the things that can be done in current times (some laws are for women only, some for men, some for priests, etc), and you obey the Most High, keep His Commands, HIS precepts, HIS statutes, HIS Holy Days (only HIS and nothing of this world), HIS Feasts, and HIS weekly Sabbath well it is a true blessing and HE does protect and bless those who keep it as HE says. It's incredible. Also, if the law was done away with, why does the Apostle John tell us, in the New Testament, that sin is the transgression of the law? If no law or if it was done away with, why is the Apostle John referring to it? John's writings as with all of the Apostles, are post-Messiah! The voice of this world (Satan) is lying to the masses and so many are listening to him without knowing it. Scripture isn't lying. Satan twists and perverts everything. That's his job. Since repenting in early 2020, I have never had such calmness, inner peace, joy, contentment, fulfillment, health, etc. I started keeping the Torah aka law aka instructions in 2020 and started keeping HIS feasts. I dropped and purged everything pagan and came out of this world in a snap. Truth! Best thing ever. Our Heavenly Father has blessed me in abundance and in ways and in areas of my life that I just can't believe at times! Our Heavenly Father cannot lie. If HE said it, whatever that may be, HE will follow through. Obey HIM. Show HIM you love HIM with your actions/works. HalleluYah!

Could you explain the difference between a covenant and a promise?
@howiefaye2 жыл бұрын
A covenant establishes a true relationship between the Creator and the created, while a promise can be given to one who is not covenanted or to one who is covenanted.
@matthewford40502 жыл бұрын
@@howiefaye A covenant, in general context, can be defined as a formal agreement between two or more parties where they agree to do or not to do something. Some examples are 1. Jonathan / David 2. Joshua (Israel) / Gibeonites 3. God / Israel at Mt Sinai Now, a promise is an assurance that one will do something or that something will happen. Why is this distinction important? I assume you would agree with this statement: In a covenant, the roles of both parties have to be active. For example, when King Saul broke the covenant made in Joshua 9 with the Gibeonites, there were consequences. So, in a promise, the role of only one party is active as the attention is mainly on a single party. For example, when Judah became surety for Benjamin. Benjamin could rest in the promise that Judah. Benjamin was not required to do anything in order for Judah to fulfill his promise to Jacob his father. Therefore, as we see in the promise given to Abraham by God, Abraham was not responsible for doing the promise, but rather God. So simply stating as you did that a covenant is a true relationship with God, does not actually define what a covenant is, but rather your view of what a relationship with God is. The logic of using your definition, would mean that the Gibeonites had a true relationship with the creator because they entered a covenant with Joshua. So considering the obligations of covenant vs promise, we see this: In a covenant, both parties have clear responsibilities and obligations. In a promise, responsibilities and obligations are not there for both parties as only one party takes active role while the other remains passive. This is why salvation is by promise, not of works. One in covenant must work to receive their blessing/reward, but a son does not. Son receives an inheritance by promise, not works. The covenants of promise are covenants God made with himself (because he could swear by no greater) to make known and declare a promise. Please note that the covenant God made while Abraham was in a deep sleep. This covenant is referenced as the 'promise'. Note that the covenant was between God, but God is one. A promise has no force unless it is established by covenant or by will/testament. The promise of God has force/power, because it was established by God swearing/covenanting with himself. When Yeshua died, his testament also had force as he being the testator, died to give it force.

@@matthewford4050 A covenant, in general context, can be defined as a formal agreement between two or more parties where they agree to do or not to do something. // Actually, that is incorrect. A covenant is only by blood, ONLY by BLOOD between two or more parties. If it's not a blood covenant, then it's a treaty, contract, pact, oath, agreement, vow, etc. Elohim with Yisrael is only by blood covenant and never by agreement alone. Joshua 9:7 both the NIV, AMP, KJV for example, correctly translate Bereyth as treaty or league (based on context), but it's incorrect to translate at 'covenant' since there's no mention of blood. To many embark on a bible translation without knowing the depth of words and culture. It takes years of proper learning to have a strong foundation in covenant knowledge. My previous answer was basic, since you were asking a basic question. This is why most of Christianity has no idea on how to enter into Covenant with Elohim. They all claim to have the Holy Ghost but one would hear dozens of different answers on how to come into Covenant with Elohim. Remember, without blood there is not covenant with the Almighty, no matter how much we imagine we are. RE: Abraham -- Correct, however, all covenants come with a promise which includes the most important one -- the Abrahamic Covenant. I would also disagree with your understanding of works since it's so broadly used and ambiguous, which you learned from Reformed Christianity. We all work but it's either for Light or for Darkness, a tree cannot bear mixed fruit. Please, do not argue with me, if you do not agree, I have not the time or desire to be contentious. I speak from truth and a vast amount of research from scholars and internal evidence from the Holy Writ.
@matthewford40502 жыл бұрын
@@howiefaye So the covenant that Jesus entered with the father was by his own blood. You have access to the promise by faith, not by works. Jesus did the work and is doing the work in us. The apostle Matthew defined Israel as Jesus Christ the only begotten son of the Father. The true Israel is Jesus. It is all about Jesus Christ / Yeshua. The covenant of grace is about Jesus. The promises have power because they from a covenant between the father and the son. They will not fail on their promises

@@matthewford4050 No, you have it all twisted like an old twisted tree that is leafless and void of fruit. You are drinking from the cup of abominations; therefore, if Jesus is an abomination then you are doing His fruit, which is wickedness. Wickedness is grievous sins committed against the laws of the Kingdom, and those laws are Torah, which is divine. There is not a covenant of Grace, that comes from the harlot church and it's false prophet!!! The church taught you this false doctrine. If you repent of your wickedness, then the Almighty may have mercy upon you and begin to remove the scales from your eyes. Until then you are in bondage to grievous sin, and everyday you break the divine commands of Torah, which is the Constitution of Yisrael, you break fellowship and our an outcast of the divine covenant. This is why you follow the Constitution of men and not of Elohim. Everything that I've stated is truth, but you can't see truth even when it smacks you in the face. Why? the Holy Writ declares that Satan has blinded the eyes of the proud, therefore, Elohim resists the proud and gives favor to the humble... Consequently, what you posted is rubbish and void of truth--it's false religion propagating as truth. Jesus and his followers are lawless (without Torah) and Yeshua and His followers are to walk in His Father's Torah. Imagine me saying this to you when I visited you "Do not think I came to sleepover, I did not come to sleepover". And then after I leave someone asks why I came over and you say "she came to sleepover!" Like does that make sense, and, is that what I said as to the reason why I visited? Messiah said the same thing when HE said "I did not come to abolish the law.....". HE did not come to abolish the law! Pretty clear to me. Praise YAH!

Shalom Zach, great teachings! In reference to the verse in where it says you are gods; I remember a Torah teacher do a word study on that. It was Brad, Rico or Dinah can’t recall who exactly. The word god is more precisely define as judges. Any thoughts on that?
@snappysnap9552 жыл бұрын
In that verse where YHVH tells Moses that He will be as a god, the word elohim is used. Don't know about the judges part...interesting question.

Excellent work brother, however because you are so WINSOME many will not realize the heaviness of the truths you have presented. In Egypt deliverance was 1st and free THEN he gave them the instructions from Sinai. However because the first generation was not obedient in the wilderness they did not enter into the promised land (depart from me you workers of lawlessness, I never knew you)

Many people who read Matthew 7:21-23 focus on the "I never knew you" part and ignore the "you who practice lawlessness" part. 1 John 2:3-4 Now by this we know that that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. He who says "I know Him" and does not keep His commandments is a liar and the truth is not in him. Many Christians won't admit it but they believe that Yahushua is a liar but they have rock solid faith in what they mistakenly think Paul said.

Great vid again Zach. The only thing I would disagree with slightly in what you said is that obedience doesn't save you. It's faith. Faith is obedience in the Bible. You can't separate the two. Yeshua taught works based salvation, if you love me keep my commandments. If you want to enter into life, keep the commandments. Only those who DO the will of my father will enter the kingdom. Even repentance is works but it's the goodness of Yah that draws us to repent. Then we do works fitting repentance just as John the Baptist preached.
@wydopnthrtl2 жыл бұрын
I see your point but lets play a what if game. What if a person comes to see they are a sinner and decide to turn to Yah and in the name of Yeshua they repent, confess He is lord, and are baptized. Then on the way home they are killed in a car crash. They had done NO works after being set free. So does that person NOT get saved? You and I both know the answer.... Eph 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.
@tkmasala2 жыл бұрын
@@wydopnthrtl of course I agree with you. The thief on the cross being the perfect example of a changed heart with no opportunity to perform any works. Initial repentance is necessary but then a continual life of works worthy of repentance is necessary to make it into the kingdom. 🙂

The Pharisees were Esau. They are the children of the flesh that Paul calls out in Roman’s 9. It is a leaven of the Pharisees to think that Judaism even comes remotely close to keeping the Law of Moses. Their calendar is wrong. Their doctrine is wrong. Their bloodline is also wrong. This is very easy to see if one wants to see the Truth.

"Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie." ~ Revelation 22:14-15 (KJV) Fun note.....the KJV's "do his commandments" is different over all other modern versions "wash their robes [in the blood of the Lamb...they add]" because the earliest "Church fathers" quoted this one, not the "wash their robes." There isn't much weight behind the "wash their robes" version so even though it was found in only 2 earlier texts its the rarer form which indicates possible sloppy scribal errors: “οι ποιουντες τας εντολας αυτου” (Textus Receptus) “οἱ πλύνοντες τὰς στολὰς αὐτῶν” (NA/UBS) "Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man." ~ Ecclesiastes 12:13
@LightSeekers7772 жыл бұрын
Our family found Revelation 22:14 by accident because we all have different Bible versions. At first, we were horrified, but then we remembered the parable in Matthew 22:11-13. I believe it is meant to be a play on words that the Greeks probably understood, seeing he used the comparison in Revelation 19:7-9.
@pennsyltuckyreb98002 жыл бұрын
@@LightSeekers777 You could be right. It absolutely could be a play on words. This happens a lot throughout the Bible. Paul does this many times himself. What's interesting is washing one's robes clean is by doing the commandments.

😂 I made my first comment just at the beginning so I hadn't watched the video yet! Hilarious! "I know one thing! He's not a Baptist!" 😂😂😂 All those liquor bottles. And frankly, it sounded kinda gay that he called you winsome. Not too many men use that adjective and particularly not about other men. Mr. Solberg seems really intent on making a name for himself in the antiTorah movement. He's just popping up everywhere these days. And David Wilbur cleaned his clock in a debate. But there is a disturbing blindness on these folks...prayers for them.

I’m hoping that those who watch the Apologia broadcasts will see the errors in their interpretation of Scripture and it will have the opposite effect they intended. That people will realize their arguments don’t actually make sense.

This is always what happens. They make a big fuss, people then investigate and read for themselves and BOOM! They are being used by the holy spirit but not in the way that they think. Jeremiah 16:15-21
