Can a 14 Year Old iPhone 3Gs Run Minecraft?

The iPhone 3GS was my first phone as a kid and the first thing I did was jailbreak it... So let's see what it takes to get Minecraft running and see if I can survive the night 🫡

I’m sure the hard drive isn’t bad, it’s just old and crappy. Also it’s totally not an SSD lol. That would make things go much more smoothly.

​@@NebulaHatesWatchdogOr install more RAM (if possible). HDD usage is so high because of ram being almost full so its using the Page file which basically is ram on your HDD or SSD and that causes high HDD usage.

It needs reimaged completely with windows 10 and probably wiped. He could probably access OneDrive for his sister’s files to back them up.

@@PWVlogs It's too slow to download, install, and upload files to One Drive. Replace the whole HDD with an SSD and put a fresh install of Windows. Use a SATA adapter to transfer the files back directly from the HDD. RAM is at 64% so it's not full.

If you have another faster phone you can play a minecraft map with infinite world generation on the 3GS pretty well. Altough you can disable "limit world size" on options,but the game runs too slow

this phone was my older brother phone and i borrow his phone to play angry birds, but in reality i was playing on his minecraft world until he upgraded to iphone 5s and his old 3g is given to me. it was laggy but i was able to play minecraft and i was so happy. Its been 10 years since and i moved to java edition

I started playing mcpe demo on my 3gs on december 1st 2012, begged my dad to buy the full version for me the next day and I have been a semi frequent player ever since. I think mcpe was on version 0.5.0 when I started.

YO when you showed the dell laptop running at 100% disk i had a heart attack. I have an 8 year old Dell Inspiron 15 that ALWAYS runs at 100% disk at all times, something with dell laptops man, it's like impossible to figure out how to stop it from happening, even if you search all over the web, so many cases of this happening! Just thought it was wild to see that same issue in a video haha! Great vid

Since it has 256mb of RAM and the Samsung APL0298C05 chip that is composed of an ARM Cortex-A8 CPU core underclocked to 600 MHz (from 833 MHz), integrated with a PowerVR SGX 535 GPU, which were very good specs for its time. So I’m happy to see it can run Minecraft.

I covered a medium sized island with blocks of TNT on my iPhone 3GS. I blew them up and my 3GS froze for more than 5 mins. After waiting for more than 5 mins, the game is playable again. Everything still works fine. (Edit : maybe.. you should try it too 👀)

Minecraft PE was so optimized before 1.17. My old nokia smartphone which had 8gb storage and 1gb of ram could run it. Now with 1.20.1, i have the samsung s22 getting 60fps. But my poor old nokia is not even able to download the game due to it being such an old phone that it no longer supports minecraft.

Yeah the process of installing minecraft was kinda over complicated in this video since it doesn’t take very long to do. it’s probably because the main idea of the video was just about installing it and not the gameplay.

Nice video. It's nostalgic seeing the iPhone 3GS. Just a slight criticism here though, you should have showed way more footage of the game actually running. I know it's your editing style but if you're gonna show off a game running then make sure you show it properly and not cut to your face every few seconds. Not just that but your reactions feels so ingenuine, and at that point why even show yourself at all?
