I dunno🤷♂️ every turn he made seemed a lil slow. Obviously not the slowest one on the track 🤣 but why go wide and let off the gas every turn? Why not pull the clutch in down shift and spin thru the bitch? I always come up on a turn faster than I'm going to actually stay while going thru it and hit the back break just enough to make my rear end begin to slide and once it starts to slide I open that clutch and spin thru using however much gas it takes to keep a steady spin and not lay it down or over shoot the turn. It's something to practice but wayyyy funner than just taking the outside in fuckin 3rd or 4th

Back in the 1990's and early 2000's, the top 125 riders had faster lap times than the top riders in the 250 class. . . . Watching Ricky Carmichael destroy the entire field in Hangtown back in 1998 on his KX125 was a sight to see. At the end of the day, his lap time was an average of over 1 second faster per lap than the top 250 class rider. These were the early years of the 4-stroke 400's entry into the 250 class. A novelty at the time. Still couldn't touch the 2-stroke 125 class.

Great laps Zach. Much, much improvement from first time. Remember, with a good berm you can drag the handlebar in the turn's if you want as long as you keep throttle on. It will compress your gut's. Exhale going in and relax. You can breath again as you come out of the turn. You have improved lot's . Great job. If you ever get a chance, ride a CR500, but if you do you need to get very serious before you throw a leg over the CR 500. Not a KX. The KX can't hang with the CR. If you haven't riden one yet I can tell you straight up that it will blow your mind. Be safe and ALWAY'S wear all of your protective gear.

I just bought my first dirt bike this summer and it was a 125 yz 2005. It is like you thought. You can't ride in "trail riding" or in the woods. When you ride it, it's on or off. You have to ride it in some place where you can open it up.
@motocrossin4ever5 жыл бұрын
It’s all in how it’s geared really. But 4t bikes are topically very torquey and on tight technical trails it’s harder to ride them as they’re heavier and that torque can be too much at times when trying to feather the throttle and clutch.

My yz125 was a 97. And up until right before I sold it the bike was nothing but problems. The issue was that was my first race bike, and for some reason we could not get it to run right. Checked absolutely everything, carb, top end rebuild, power valves, ECT other than splitting open the case to check gaskets (didn't have the money for that). The suspension was awful cause the forks where dried up and the rear shock was really tight so the thing just threw you foward or back like nothing. The one thing I can say about that bike is when you did open her up the engine preformed fenominally. I rode my friends 2010 crf250r and loved it, decided to go to the 4 stroke so I picked up a 2003 yz250f. Hated it, expensive to fix and heavy. So I sold that and went back to the 2 stroke so now I have a 2004 cr250r and other than needing fork seals but the point is everyone likes different bikes cause they suit different riding styles. I'm sure if I tried a yz125 with good suspension that didn't have to be wound out 24/7 just to not foul a plug I would like it. But if I had the money for a new bike it would definitely be a brand new yz250.

Man i remember my dad bought me a 06 yz125 for my 16th birthday I'm talkin bout when I got on it that powerband and that flex hit I was like damn like shit felt like a rocket. So comfortable. It just took off.

So that's why ktm has hydraulic clutch. And also my ktms don't need the throttle to be touched during idle. Urs seems like it's trying to bog down. Clean your jets and maybe fix you idle tuning. Not hating on you but I disagree with it being the "best" bike. I mean it's the one 2 stroke I never see on the track or trails.
@nolanbennett24437 жыл бұрын
Hydraulic clutches are pointless to me unless you shift with the clutch and no one I know shifts a two stroke with clutch

Kyle Godfrey what are you taking about. It's the only 2 stroke you never see at the track? Your full of shit. It's the only Japanese 125 made for over ten years. There's more yz 125's at my local track than any other machine. Also they idle just fine when there jetted right. Most people run them plenty rich to save the engine but hurt idle quality but who gives a shit about idling. Also they can be made to be pretty damn good trail machines as well. I trail ride in very rugged fire trails with guys with big ktm's, husky's and Hondas with my 2000 and she shines. hondas and

Cesar flores depends on what ur going for for racing KTM for reliability prolly honda but tbh it comes down to personal preferance but i mean a brand without a power valve isn’t near the best and yamaha doesn’t make all the bikes like KTM does cuz u have KTM 50 JR, KTM 50, KTM 65, KTM 85, KTM 85 with big wheels, KTM 125, KTM 150, KTM 250 2 stroke, KTM 250SX-F, KTM 350, KTM 450 plus a full set of enduro bikes and all top quality race ready with electric start on almost all and an electric KTM 50E
