What a lovely piece, and very sensitively played and sung. We know F.W.Zachau taught Handel, and now I can see some similarities.

This is a beautiful and interesting piece, and it must be one of the earliest examples of a cantata laid out in the structural format (choruses, recitatives, arias and chorale) found in Bach's music.

Amazing how the ending sounds a bit like the french folk song «une jeune fillette», popular at that time...The rythm remain unchanged while there are some variations in the harmony and chords position. The whole thing reminds of this song. This could be very possible for Zachow teached Handel many European style among which French style.
