I need help for my boyfriend. He's a really bad alcoholic and can't stop! He spends all our money on liquor 3-4 times a day. And then gets behind the wheel and drives. I have prayed and prayed for him to get help. But, AA makes him worse. He really needs Detox. Can anyone there give me anymore advice? I'm about to give up. Because, he is a totally different person when he drinks. He said, it's because of what hee seen in the War. I understand that. Was lost in the wilderness for the first 30 years of my life. Just because you stop using drugs, does not make you cured. Sure that solves the immediate threat, but what those drugs did to my brain, faith, and body was the real killer. Alot of people including myself can be clean and dirty at the same time because we refuse to let God in. When we follow his teachings, we learn truth. Doesn't matter how old you are, God can bring you out the wilderness no matter how long you been held captive there. Amazing Grace, how sweet that is!

I have dependence on pharmaceuticals due to mental illness. Oh how I long for the day to free from these chemicals. The one thing I can say is after suffering so many years trying to battle it on my own; I’m thankful that God has given me this affliction to soften my heart towards Him and others. He’s given me compassion in the place of bitterness. He’s humbled my heart and gave me hope. The price of laying down my life is such a small price to pay and I’d do it until the end of ages just to be with the greatest love of my life, that is the God who sent his only son Jesus Christ. In His name I pray safety and love, especially to those that are afflicted with mental illness. Amen. God sees you, he sees your heart and He won’t ever quit on you.

I have to take them too. Was told it was a sin.. (taking these meds)... Tried to cut cold turkey... And I'm a mess. Started them back but I've not been the same. I get intrusive thoughts ... I don't want. I cry a lot now. I get scared Jesus coming and I'll be left because of these thoughts.

@@freyaaldrnari6086 you are a child of god and you have been saved by his blood...I am on methadone and have been for years, I have had back surgery and I was taking close to 50 pain pills a day for a couple year's... I've been to rehab several times but the pain was to much so I thought I was doing a good thing by switching to methadone I no longer use any other drugs...I was addicted to cocaine and meth and a alcoholic, I just can't seem to get past the methadone...I know it has saved my life but I am still department on it and alot of people frown on it ...I am really trying to wing off of it but it is so addictive...there is no worse addiction than an opiate addiction, I tried to quit cold turkey and I was vomiting for over 2 weeks straight and made it 11 months and still felt horrible and hurt all the time, I wanted to die....my point is god knows your heart and we are all sinner's... addiction is a sickness and each addiction is different... stay close to god and keep him first in your life...Don't beat yourself up over this addiction instead take it to god and believe you will be healed and it will happen... mental illness is serious, I don't believe for one second it will keep you from heaven, god knows your heart..if u were to get off your meds and commit suicide or hurt someone then you would be worse off...god judges everyone different so don't worry my friend...it does no good beating yourself up over it... keep praying and believing...get that stigma of being a life long addict out of your head god heals in his time and at a flip of a switch just keep trusting and believing....a good person to listen to is Joel Osteen on podcast or utube...he is a very encouraging pastor and he will put hope in your heart even on those toughest day's.... I've been reading his books and listening to him for about 9 months know and he has really helped me understand and see things a different way....I encourage you to give him a chance and I think it will awnser alot of your questions...I know what you are going through I met several people in rehab and sober living who were suffering with mental illness.... whoever told me you that you would not go to heaven for taking your psychological meds should be ashamed of themselves...god put medicine as well as Dr's on earth, he gave them knowledge to be able to help people like you... people take dianetic meds , blood pressure meds and Al sorts of meds they could not live without, your issues are no different they are just a different type of meds....you did not ask for your mental illness and I know u wish I didn't have it, but u do....you have no choice but to be to take them, and prey to god to take your illness away....he heals some people and some unf5 never get healed and end up dying...I can't awnser the who and why and when but I can tell you to never loose hope... when I prey I feel like a broken record sometimes but I know I will be delivered from my addiction on god's time and until then I must keep my faith and keep 5he enemy at bay because he wants to drag you down and keep you there he wants you to think just as you are right now....I encourage you to let him know otherwise...you Are a child of the most high god...you have his favor in your DNA so don't give Satan the time of day that is what he longs for....keep your head up high no matter what anyone else tells you....the only thing that matters is that god loves you No matter what, so remember that. And remember you are not alone friend....don't ever think you are not worthy of gods love, and don't let this pull you from serving him...the word says come as you are....he would rather have you in church addicted, strung out and in sin than not at all... hopefully your church tells you the same thing and if they don't I think I would start looking for one that does... don't judge your brother, I think that says it all and I think a church should would go by the words they teach...take care and I will prey for you but remember these things and remember you are never alone... take care and God bless you...

The Bible states that these kinds of spirits can only be out through fasting and praying. Believe in Jesus that He can do it for you. I encourage you to read your Bible and apply these promises God has for you, include your name in them. This does not define you. You are a Child of God. Given this, I pray that YOU WILL MAKE that person see that this feeling is wasted for a world in which we become strangers as we age, gives us thrills instead of peace, aims to solve a problem but creates another, and unrest surges with each passing generation. Shed some light into their broken hearts for YOU ARE THE GREAT JEHOVAH, THE GOD THAT HEALETH thee. Lastly, LORD when they call on YOU in earnest prayer to come into their hearts to be born again (repentance manifesting itself in a changed life), I pray that YOU WILL GIVE them the blessed assurance of their salvation because nothing breaks YOUR HEART, or tears YOU apart like when they cry from the trials of the devil who comes to slander, falsely accuse, steal, kill & destroy. Only by drawing nearer to YOU LORD will put them on a path to a glorious one way trip winding upward to YOU where pain is not welcome because the heart will never break anymore. For ONLY YOU UNDERSTANDS our tears since YOU LOOK at the heart, while humans look at the flesh. O LOVE that will not let them go. When they don't have the strength to try, and have cried all they can cry hear their hearts that need YOU more today than yesterday. Many thanks LORD for speaking TRUTH in our lives TO BLESS those who are not offended by THEE. I got sober in AA. Three years now. I thought that would be impossible. But he I am today a free man. That allowed me to reconnect with God. And not only am I sober today but I’m in love with God and on fire for Jesus and the message of the Good Book and the Big Book. I wish the same for you my sister. One thing I know without doubt is God loves you and wants you to be happy, Joyous, and free. He made you in His image and loves you deeply. This song is such a blessing. I battled meth addiction for 17 years. Was homeless and ended up in prison. Oh but glory be to God he heard my cry from inside those prison walls. He delivered me of my addiction and now 8 years later I am faithfully serving him. I Own my own business and I am the leader of our mens ministry program at church. Also drive our church bus every Sunday to pick people up. God can turn any thing around if we surrender.

Can relate as evidenced by the following sentences delineating how we use music to deal with pain. The negative influences of this world are designed to make our heart sick through emotional & physical pain resulting in a given person turning to music as one source of comfort to the body. The painful realty of this existence gives rise to the birth of music in two forms, earthly & HEAVENLY. Earthly music speaks to the experiences of this world through the singer-song writer’s eyes. Oftentimes drug use (i.e. alcohol, smokes, marijuana, cocaine, opioids, benzos and propofol to name a few) is intertwined with the survival of an artist to deal with the pressure of performing in order to stay relevant in the music industry, and to serve as fuel for creativity. As a result, music celebrities develop a tendency to sin against their body, through excessive drug use, for not measuring up to or to satisfy the demands of their music. Any earthly joy they experience is darkened by the heavy burden of performing and the loss of privacy. The end users of their music become fans because the lyrics are relatable and the sound of the singer’s voice & rhythm helps them cope with the pains of this reality. Unfortunately, this band aid approach is only a time out from the hurt and in the meantime we are fortifying its wall with painful memories waiting in line. Who can save us from wounds that are silent, wordless and cruel all the while tearing us apart inch by inch on the inside, which could radically accelerate the demise of the human body? I will use caps as emphasis to show the honest reverence for GOD'S SOVEREIGNTY when writing about HEAVENLY music in the paragraphs below. That INVINCIBLE DIVINE be our HEAVENLY FATHER, WHO THROUGH HIS SON’S MISSION HAS INSPIRED believers to write songs that sing of HIS LIFE GIVING LOVE to deal with emotional & physical pain, economic instability, mortality and the emotional instability of others with the motive of winning over souls for HIS KINGDOM. These agitations of the soul create a heavy burden for the lost and could lead him or her to be hostile of songs that sing about GOD’S GLORY. This makes it clear that we cannot win the spiritual battle by our own strength. Moreover, on earth the devil has no equal. GOD has provided us with the ONE WHO CAN AND WILL LIFT the heavy burden of sin's guilt from a given sinner's heart if he or she (through faith) would open their understanding to Psalms (starting with the focus on Psalms 51:1-10 KJV), and hymns/songs giving praise to HIM for the purpose of being persuaded, converted and healed by the HOLY SPIRIT from within by transforming your body/temple into a meeting place for you and the KING OF THE AGES to commune as friends through the born again experience (repentance manifesting itself in a changed life). It is only here that the fears of tomorrow will diminish, the blessed assurance is given that you are HIS and HE LIVES. Once the blessed assurance is known in prayer (through the confession of wanting salvation from one’s sinful nature, combine with admitting that JESUS CHRIST is LORD and believing in one’s heart that GOD raised HIM from the dead to deliver us from sin's guilt) the world can never take it away because the world didn’t give it to you.

I was in a abusive relationship with my kids father.. I ended up leaving him but started meth to numb the pain. I had 2 young children and had a psychosis because of the drugs abuse. I lost my parental right temporarily. But with god I was able to stop using meth. Completely. For 2years now. I remember begging god for help. And he heard me and he helped me. Thru the hurt of losing my children full custody now, which is nonsense with everything I've changed and how far I've made it in the last 2years.., I'm still able to keep my sobriety on. And just started going to college. Building myself a life day by day. So one day I can show my children I did got better so that one day I can be the support they need even if it might only be when they are adult.. god is giving me strength every day and I know I will never go back to my old alcool and meth abuse self.

In tears, I literally said to someone today that I just can't do this anymore. I almost quit my job but I didn't and I need to thank God more often. I'm still in my addiction fighting but I'm weak. Been feeling hopeless here lately and I use to say all the time that I would never lose hope. I'm here God I'm waiting for you and even in the lowest valleys I'll hold on.

As somebody who has been dealing with addiction and alcoholism from an early age. There came a point where. I felt like everything was too much, and I wanted it to end. And in that moment. Ready for everything to stop. The Lord came to me. Obviously not literally but. It was like he was all I could think about and in thinking of him. I felt peace, so I got ahold of my aunt. I asked her if she could start taking me to church. So I could learn more of him. And now i try to live every day with him. My trauma felt like a building collapsed on me. I felt hopeless, and for a long time, I felt like I could never be free from it. Until he's pulled away the rubble and Reached out his hand.

Thanks for posting. Can relate as evidenced by the following sentences delineating how we use music to deal with pain. The negative influences of this world are designed to make our heart sick through emotional & physical pain resulting in a given person turning to music as one source of comfort to the body. The painful realty of this existence gives rise to the birth of music in two forms, earthly & HEAVENLY. Earthly music speaks to the experiences of this world through the singer-song writer’s eyes. Oftentimes drug use (i.e. alcohol, smokes, marijuana, cocaine, opioids, benzos and propofol to name a few) is intertwined with the survival of an artist to deal with the pressure of performing in order to stay relevant in the music industry, and to serve as fuel for creativity. As a result, music celebrities develop a tendency to sin against their body, through excessive drug use, for not measuring up to or to satisfy the demands of their music. Any earthly joy they experience is darkened by the heavy burden of performing and the loss of privacy. The end users of their music become fans because the lyrics are relatable and the sound of the singer’s voice & rhythm helps them cope with the pains of this reality. Unfortunately, this band aid approach is only a time out from the hurt and in the meantime we are fortifying its wall with painful memories waiting in line. Who can save us from wounds that are silent, wordless and cruel all the while tearing us apart inch by inch on the inside, which could radically accelerate the demise of the human body? I will use caps as emphasis to show the honest reverence for GOD'S SOVEREIGNTY when writing about HEAVENLY music in the paragraphs below. That INVINCIBLE DIVINE be our HEAVENLY FATHER, WHO THROUGH HIS SON’S MISSION HAS INSPIRED believers to write songs that sing of HIS LIFE GIVING LOVE to deal with emotional & physical pain, economic instability, mortality and the emotional instability of others with the motive of winning over souls for HIS KINGDOM. The melody & theme of HEAVENLY music is hateful and intolerable to the devil, a spirit which causes us to be blinded of the effects of sin and is responsible for the woes of this world such as melancholy, anguish, tribulation and trial. These agitations of the soul create a heavy burden for the lost and could lead him or her to be hostile of songs that sing about GOD’S GLORY. This makes it clear that we cannot win the spiritual battle by our own strength. Moreover, on earth the devil has no equal. GOD has provided us with the ONE WHO CAN AND WILL LIFT the heavy burden of sin's guilt from a given sinner's heart if he or she (through faith) would open their understanding to Psalms (starting with the focus on Psalms 51:1-10 KJV), and hymns/songs giving praise to HIM for the purpose of being persuaded, converted and healed by the HOLY SPIRIT from within by transforming your body/temple into a meeting place for you and the KING OF THE AGES to commune as friends through the born again experience (repentance manifesting itself in a changed life). It is only here that the fears of tomorrow will diminish, the blessed assurance is given that you are HIS and HE LIVES. Once the blessed assurance is known in prayer (through the confession of wanting salvation from one’s sinful nature, combine with admitting that JESUS CHRIST is LORD and believing in one’s heart that GOD raised HIM from the dead to deliver us from sin's guilt) the world can never take it away because the world didn’t give it to you.

I will never forget my struggle with addiction to drugs. It's been many years since using but since then I've battled with fear, anxiety, codependency, and nicotine. But God, He's been there for me in my journey. I have to remember He is in control and I am powerless. Today I pray for lost family members that they would one day accept Jesus as their personal savior.

What an amazing song. My husband struggled with the first half, and finally gave his heart and soul to Jesus a month ago. He had faith, but now he's born new. And no longer drinks. The second half is me. I struggle with depression, PTSD, anxiety and major sciatica and a rod down my spine. So i'm on too many things, and I feel like i'm not who i'm meant to be, being on everything. I found Christ on January 23rd and haven't looked back since. We're looking for the right church and i'm searching around for where we can get baptized in water. And we're actually reading Mark every night together and I pray nonstop.
