Zack Hample is the poster child for entitlement. And it's easy to play the "nice guy/ambassador" angle through your own personal (KZbin) lens. I've seen other videos of him looking at his phone, head down, running through a concourse (safety issue/against ballpark rules), jumping over multiple rows of seats and reaching between a kid's legs (safety issue/against ballpark rules), and yelling at an usher because he was in an area where you needed a ticket (that he didn't have). What pisses me off is the military game. Members of the military were unable to attend due to ticket demand, but he weaseled himself in the ballpark.

He's literally never wrong. A reporter summed up his written apology after the Fort Bragg incident perfectly. And this was a well-written apology that was a full page long. "It amounted to 'I'm sorry, but I really wanted to go'". In other words he wasn't sorry. Then there is this rockies game incident and the thread with Stroman, then there is Arods 3,000th hit and refusing to give the ball back - holding it hostage until he gets all these special privileges and perks. There's dozens of other incidents too. People cape up for him saying he grows the game and is nice to kids. Can't you see he is entitled as all get out?? If I was at an MLB game and a grown man was running through my section the entire time, I would be pissed and would def complain.

People love being offended on behalf of others, in this case it’s kids. Grown men complain that Hample ruins the experience for kids, while kids swarm Hample for autographs at every game he goes to. Also, Stroman is a clown and the only time I hear about him is when he’s saying something stupid on twitter.

The case for: He appears to be generous to kids on and off camera during games he attends. Poses for pictures, gives away balls etc. He fancies himself an 'ambassador' for the sport, has a popular youtube channel that provides insights to various MLB ballparks - the 'ballpark tours' are the best parts of the videos IMO I am not interested in his ball catching pursuits. He also wrote a book about baseball history - more literally the history of the actual baseball itself - and I thought it was well researched and showed dedication on his part. The case against: I think the most objective fan would say he is at least controversial, if not problematic. He'll catch milestone HRs and 'hold them hostage' until he can get something in return. Usually a meet and greet a tour or an autograph. Most notably with ARods 3000th hit but there have been a couple others documented on his channel. There was the Fort Bragg incident where he got himself into a military only game - he even created a Tinder profile specifically to try and get tickets for that game. Then there is this whole thing with the Rockies and Stroman twitter. Kershaw has also called him out on Twitter. Average fans don't get called out on social media by pro athletes. I won't accuse him of bruising any minors, but there is video evidence of him throwing bows, jostling, and even going full on into the space of other people's seats while they are standing up - in pursuit of catching a HR ball. Multiple times. All in all... he's not a baby murderer. But he is obnoxious, entitled, and according to him he is 100% in the right in every single incident he has been involved with. And as far as his claim of being an ambassador, his videos have high production value for sure. But I would suggest Jomboy media has done way more to grow the game for casual fans or even non sports fans...and they never had to be controversial to do it!

No, ive never seen him push a kid out of the way for a ball... he's to smart and aware to do that. But I've seen him put himself in front of them, run and jump and reach to snag baseballs from 1000s of kids. Where did i see this? His own videos. He mentions every video how he gave a ball to a kid, when the camera guy didnt catch it. IDK man, even tho he does give balls away to kids, it feels like he has to say it and show it to make himself not appear in a bad light. Same with the autographs. Ive never seen him give away any baseballs that had some kind of value... never saw him catch a home run ball and give it away to a kid. He has Yankee season tickets and 12,000 baseballs... but alot of those kids that could have gotten their own ball, but didnt because he took charge and got it, they might only get to go to just that one game a year. IDC if its not kids he's taking baseballs from... If he jumped in front of me, or put his glove in front of mine at the last second from a section or 2 over and caught it... Im gonna embarrass the guy so much, hes not going to put that "ball" in his video. He literally does this to other fans and in one video, there are 2 asian guys that i guarantee you had that game ruined for them by Zack. And Zack knows what he did... he doesnt care.. its his right. But, when it happens to him, especially a hr ball, he gets pissed.

Zach is annoying there’s no doubt. But he’s in for the money, don’t get it twisted. I think we had it worse back in the 70s and 80s. There was this guy with a multi colored wig that was at every major sporting event somehow. He had the best seats and was on TV all the time waving and annoying you and distracting even the people watching on TV. That sucked.

I made comments on Hample's page about the BP baseball is for the kids and not grown men. Hample see's himself as an Ambassador to baseball. Dodger Films is another one (before the Dodger Organization asked him not to film BP anymore), but his focus is manly on the fans and not himself. To get back to Hample, I think the issue that he gets paid to "ball hog". He admitted he gives several BP balls to children, but ruins the fan experience because unlike kids, he has resources to visit every ballpark in the United States.

Wasn't a damn thing wrong with what Dodger Films did. Those guys had a lot of fun having contests to see who would catch the most baseballs, it was great! And, how does Zack's "resources" ruin the fan experience for kids? That's just a strange comment! What, because he's done really well for himself, he should no longer travel to various stadiums?
