Dude, this guy's skills as a comedic actor evolved and improved so much throughout the episodes as yet uploaded to CT's channel: his reactions, timing, facial nuances and non verbal communication really contributed to an evolution of the character. The "Tommy's Not Gay" episode was particularly HILARIOUS to me because of the apparently effortless subtleties which elevated DAVE (in my opinion) to an equal footing of the cast, and beyond as he came into his own. The comedic choices were so spot on, a synergistic contribution to the whole, and he (seemingly) brought more to the role than heretofore. I found myself thinking there was an INTELLIGENCE in the character not before suspected, which made him (Dave) FAR more interesting: adding a depth and richness far beyond the words in the script...as he is portrayed as "the dumb one" which is never very interesting. This transition was a JOY to behold. As ever, my favourite facet of any Art or creative process, is the EMOTION invested by the artist which is transmitted to the audience, and this episode in particular seemed for me to coalesce and bring DAVE to LIFE in a way he had not been "alive" before. I LOVE Christopher Titus for his brilliant writing/performances in his standup (which gets ever more strong) but I found myself WATCHING DAVE, eager to see every iota of non verbal communication chosen (intuitively?) to elicit ever more LAUGHTER at the WHOLE of the work. One of the most common comments one reads about this series is "Zack Ward STEALS the show" and with such strong leads, this was not something i felt until THIS episode...i could not force my attention away from this character...as there was so much to see. I love the "suspension of disbelief" in movies and yet often can not quite get there in episodic television, and although i have laughed often (and uproariously) in previous episodes, this, thus far, is my FAVOURITE. My most beloved film Directors often state they prefer to cast comedic actors in dramatic roles as they state comedic timing is far more nuanced and difficult (perhaps impossible to teach) than that required of a purely dramatic role, and if an actor is masterful in comedic roles, they can certainly be utterly believable in dramatic roles. I really want to see Zack Ward in other roles.

I have been rewatching the episodes on KZbin. The Titus series stopped airing about the time I got rid of my TV, not to be replaced. That must be close to twenty years ago. By then Titius was just about the nly thing I was watching. Zack Ward always got me to laugh. Also recommend Postal with Zack Ward, but it's not for the easily offended.
