The first time I've heard this was in my car on a early morning drive to work. The sun hasn't risen and I drive on. But deep down I haven't been myself lately then this song begins to play and memories flooded my thoughts of a man I wish was by my side because I've never felt so lost. My Master, Randy who passed away in September 2021 last year I was 23 years old. He was my teacher my father figure and my best friend. It hurts so much to remember that my old wounds opens up but even though it hurts so much I never want to forget.

The first time I heard this song I legit broke down crying because I was living back at my parents house as a 21 year old, lost my job, couldn’t afford school, I was having angry outbursts, felt like a loser who was unloved, my gf at the time had just cheated on me then broke it off with me, I had just gotten in debt from a scam and everything that you could possibly think could go wrong went wrong. So bad that it got to the point where I thought about ending it all but once I heard this song it made me have hope again and I thought I lost it all from these past few years but it made me wanna change and work even harder and now I have almost all my debt paid off and I’m happier now

He passed away in 2019 never could find out where but know my heart goes with you man. This song I listened to when I found out about his passing and said my goodbyes. As the giant arose from the hillside. His long sleep has come to an end. He adjusts his eyes and sees men and women darting off. They’re running with their screaming children. The giant looks around in confusion of what’s happening. Homes are left empty and family scared. But some didn’t run. A couple men stayed back, holding rifles. The giant gets worried and puts up his hands showing surrender. But the men were trigger happy. They see it as an attack. They raise their rifles and fire at the giant. The giant’s skin is being covered in holes and blood. Surrender wasn’t an option. It he didn’t want any violence caused on the men. The giant keeping his hands up to protect his face turns around and runs. Some of the men want to show mercy. But two of them aren’t sharing any sympathy. The two follow the poor giant for miles. Until it finds itself at a cliff side. The men are coming closer firing off all their ammo. The giant is left with two options. Defend himself and possibly injure or kill the humans or jump. He decides to no longer flee. He turns to his incoming attackers as they are reloading. He walks over to them and drops to his knee and grabs the two men in the palms of his hands. He starts squeezing. The giant looks at the terrified men, and immediately feels guilty. One of the men started thrashing around in fear. The other tried stabbing his hand. The giant couldn’t bring hims of to kill them so he sets them down. The two fell to their knees and grabbed their rifles. One of them turned around and fell to his back and aimed at the giant. The giant stood still and awaited his fate. The man hesitated to pull the trigger. “What are you waiting for?” The other man asked violently. The man couldn’t pull the trigger. “What are you doing?” The other asked again. “Showing mercy” the man said setting down his rifle. “That’s not a monster” he continued. The other, getting angry, grabs his gun and aims at the giant. The guy who showed mercy grabs his gun and it fires into the dirt near his feet. The man gets punched and the two started fighting. “That thing tried to kill us! It’s not like us, it doesn’t know mercy!” He yelled. The violent one pins the other to the ground. “You’re not a man, you can’t even kill the threat” he claims. The other hits him with his head. He lets go and holds his forehead in pain. The other guy pushes him off and grabs his rifle. The violent one grabs his as well. They aim. The violent one fires first before the other guy pulled the trigger. The other guy falls to the ground blood coming from his gut. The violent one aims the gun at the giant. He gets ready to pull the trigger, but the giant swipes him off his feet with the back of his hand. The man falls to the ground stunned. The giant lifts his fist into the air. He lowers the giant fist towards the man who rolls out of the way. The giant leaves an imprint in the dirt. The man goes to fire again. The giant throws his fist at him once again. The impact of the blow threw the man over the edge. The giant sees the man fall and disappear into the trees below. The sound of impact echoed through the forest. Which sent birds flying away. The giant turned around to the man who defended him. As he took his last breath he looked at the giant. “You’re not a monster” he whispered. His body fell limp and stopped breathing. The giant sat there looking far ahead at the town. He looks back at the man. “You didn’t deserve this” the giant whispered as he got up. The giant could see more men heading this way. Instead of running the giant looked at the man. He could hear the crowd of men coming closer. The giant fell to his knees and then to his side. The giant closed his eyes and played dead. “You’re death will be honored” the giant whispered to himself.

But he is detached, disconnected, this world no longer feels like his world, these people don't feel like his brothers, and he no longer feels like one of them. The Giantslayer realizes that in some twisted way, his life hunting giants created a bond between him and the Giant, and being there to witness the last moments of their race burdened him with the purpose of carrying on their legacy. Atone for the lives he took among that proud people. The Giantslayer abandons mankind and leaves society to wander the earth, searching for hope: In the wake of a Giant, he knows the world is changed...but one day the giants will return. And he will be waiting for them, not as a slayer...but as a brother. Well, those texts have been a ride. Thanks everyone who enjoyed them! I might keep writing some of those narratives in Zack Hemsey's future uploads, but since this is the last song of this album, this is the end for now. To think all of this was done in the wake of Zack Hemsey's genius.
