I've been following Theo and Harris on KZbin for over two years and I like Christian, and Rolly too, a lot. Very likeable guys and Christian is a very good salesman and face for the business. But I just can't see how he's grossing 2.5 million bucks a year selling watches and straps.
@EPICCDCTECH5 жыл бұрын
You have to understand that most of his business if probably done behind the scenes. Although he has a large social media presence he won't go running around posting about every large sale. Also, maybe some customers want to remain anonymous.

@@ryan_118 The margins on pre-owned watches are generally quite low as one must stay within appropriate market prices. I'd be surprised if they're flipping these pieces for more than a 20% net return. Having said that, I don't know why you'd ever buy from T & H when the option of Crown/Caliber and the Watchbox are available.

Great video on how you started the biz. You have been working it hard and deserve your success. I've learned a lot about vintage watches since watching you and of course some other watch Vloggers. Buying and wearing Vintage has never been cooler. Don't get me wrong. New is great, of course but Vintage represents great value and can always have a story behind each watch . Who is that watch dealer in Manhattan with all the Rolex dials?! What a selection! Would love to pay him a visit in the future.

Mathieu Vaillancourt hey man! Great question! Swapping dials is very common practice in vintage watches. And, as long as the dials (and all components) are genuine Rolex and correct to the model, it’s not frowned upon at all.

@@TheoandHarris thanks for the explanation ! With the know how of your watchmaker, I'm sure your listing is in prestine condition. I'm always looking your listing on your site. "I know a lot about watches" Several minutes later he says Edmund Hillary wore a Rolex Explorer up Everest. Edmund Hillary did NOT wear a Rolex, that was Tenzing Norgay. Hillary wore Smiths de Luxe (a defunct English Watchmaker). I find it odd that you would even include this clip when it's blatantly incorrect.
@67whitegoat45 жыл бұрын
The Provincial Gentry, your head is in your ass and your wrong. Rewind and listen to what he says. The watches the two men had was the predecessor to the Explorer. They both had one given to them by Rolex. Did Hillary have another watch as well? Probably.
@theprovincial5 жыл бұрын
@@67whitegoat4 I'm right actually. This is an undisputed fact. If you've read the source material and done any research on the climb you would know what I said was precisely correct. By your logic any watch Hillary owned could have been a placeholder in this argument.

Had nothing to do with making the watch or anything remotely close... Buys vintage watches and sells for more money. Bumping up the price to net more money for his company. Such a schmuck thing to do. His company won’t last long. No one wants to buy from someone who doesn’t do anything with making the watches besides buying and flipping for more. Stop buying from this kid. Born rich... never had a real job and now he’s profiting off ppl won’t rush to buy but don’t look that they’re getting screwed

Plenty of people resell things to make a living. You only can do it if you know the market and you know what will sell well, and net good margins. Nothing wrong with a little flip game buddy! And FWIW, he wasn't born rich.
