I've been a fan of Gene and beatboxing in general for more than 3 years, and I appreciate this spotlight video and also the messages that Gene is trying to send. I've watched the community grow tremendously during this time, but as Gene alluded to-- beatboxing is still severely underappreciated and unrecognized. On a more personal note, I'd also like to add that these beatboxers (everyone in the Beatbox House) are some of the most friendly, humble and authentically human people around. When i first met these artists last summer, i finally got to experience the music that I had become so infatuated with from youtube.. and i was inspired not only as a musician myself, but by the things they were talking about in terms of being open-minded and appreciating one another on just a human level. Even from the outside looking in, beatboxing has changed my life, and these artists-- Gene, Chris, Napom, Kaila, Kenny, Amit, Mark-- have unknowingly left a real impact on me. Once again, thanks to Zack Paris, Gene and Neil for this short film!

For such an enthralling individual like Gene, me listening to his sublime works gives me so much motivation. I started beatboxing 2 years ago, I have no idea whether it was subliminal in a sense that it was important to me back then, because it is incredibly meaningful to me as of now. And to hear Gene share his perspectives and his life regarding beatbox makes me so joyful. As I learn more about it, or even life in general, so many goals are made by me. The sore fact that my overall experience with beatbox is giving so much is mesmerizing to me. The emotion that drives me to actually bring change to the world can't be put into words. As if it's some kind of sonder that hit me. All I have to say is. Thank you, Gene.
