I am a man, and I fell in love with this brand and the women’s perfume due to a sample I got through a makeup order since I am a MUA. I collect perfumes, and I love heavily scented spicy and wooden notes. Not so much into fruity or floral, but this was lovely. I live in Norway, and I’ve never heard of this brand. Ironically they have a store down town.

Goodness, your descriptions do a really good job of evoking the scents. I think you’re right about Zadig & Voltaire breaking the rules. They broke the grammar one by avoiding the more correct 'This Is She' and 'This Is He'. Hahaha

I smelt this is her in John Lewis and I fell in love. I shrugged it off st first but the sales lady insisted on spraying it on my hand and I'm glad it did! It's definitely a unique scent and I can't wait to buy it. It reminds me of PaCo rabanne black xs in the sense that it's vanilla and can be masculine

Hello! First of all I loved this video and the way you describe it is Just how it truly is. I discovered this product because I actually smelled it on a client who came in the shop and I said you are wearing a lovely fragrance! She was effortlessly chic and rock at the same time, so after a while I just bought it for myself! I do like it, but I need to get used to it on me because my signature fragrance used to be dolce and Gabbana the one but I feel now it was time for a change.

Amazing scent on This is him variant, i like the smoky and creamy milky vanilla it emits. Not irratating on the nose but rather it gives smooth and suave impression. Actually it may give a feminine base note yet the incense and peppery notes will give manly impression and will balance the scent overall. Besides i feel unique whenever i wear this.

Hi Girls, Great review by the way! i was lucky enough to grab sample of this is him. I must say i am absolutely in love with this fragrance. The pepper, Vanilla and Sandalwood really stand out and projects off my skin like a beast. I had a girl comment on my fragrance over the weekend while I was out which striked a conversation which lead to her giving me her number!! Great winter fragrance with a rough, clean, mysterious edge smell!

Nice video! I love how the bottles are designed! Got a sample of This Is Him with a recent purchase. The opening instantly reminded me of Dior Fahrenheit Parfum (which I absolutely LOVE) but it quickly turns into something that is too powdery for my tastes. Also I detect somewhat of an unpleasant rubbery note in the base.

+pdude1911 We also love those bottles - cool and minimalist yet quirky and edgy - perfectly in keeping with this brand! You're not the first who sense a similarity to Fahrenheit (but also Fahrenheit is more complex in structure). The powderyness probably comes from that mix of a dark vanilla and incense note with a very creamy sandalwood. Reviewers are mixed in their response to the trail of This Is Him. And we quite like that in a perfume : the ability to divide the crowd, as it were... it makes our jobs more interesting. We are sure you'll agree when we say that we have found that some of the best perfumes we talk about aren't the mainstream commercial ones.

I get a super pepper at the top. Then the vanilla and chestnut comes out. Very unique.

I really saw this before with my girlfriend but they don't have "This is Him". The one that you spray on your neck "This is Her" has it there and got a quick sniff that one. I really love that beautiful smell and my girlfriend agreed too. She bought it so finally see her chance that she spray her neck. I was happy and gave her hug.

+Allen Sandusky hi! We can't believe we hit 1000, so many fragrance fans out there! The main Italian brand that comes to mind would be Acqua di Parma but you might already be able to get that where you are. Also Etro is one that we work with but there is a lot more choice in Italy. Have a lovely trip

I love it, for me its a Mix of a lightly playfull parfum also its maskulin. I've bought this because i was looking for a parfum, which is not so Mainstream like Boss Botteld or something else. Altough Boss Botteld is a great parfum.

I have never heard of this brand until yesterday when I saw this 2 new fragrances, got a quick sniff of both, to me I see this two as part of the same block of stone, breaking it and you have the pure one (white) and the dark one (black) to me i see this 2 as unisex, one cleaner, smoother, the nice one, the black one the dirtier, the rebel, like a ying-yang. They where putted in the same place and I didn't read the small letters, I actually though the white one was unisex and I still think a man can pull it of, not a overly masculine guy, to me is the best from those 2 and I quite like it, different enough as a designer scent. The man version I need to give it another go, but first impressions wasn't the best, I like incense in fragrances but I got a extremely powerful accord of something that smelled like iso e super in the mix of the other notes, so I though it was kind of a mess, but I don't like to judge fragrances on first impressions, need to give it a skin test and outside of the store. It wasn't bad, and not generic this point only is very good since most designers lately have been extremely generic, everything smells almost the same, so kudos for Zadiq & Voltaire. Btw, the angel is awesome!

+Samuel Gustav we're glad you've got to try them and totally agree they could be for either sex. Interesting what you say about Iso E Super as that could well be an ingredient however it's never really one that gets published and we haven't had access to these perfumers to ask. As you say give it a good test on the skin and see how it goes

@ Samuel- I wish I read your review/comment before making a purchase of the black bottle. You hit it right on the mark. It seems as if they added an extra ingredient to the black bottle to make it seem more Masculine and that ingredient seems very unnecessary. The small bottle seems overpriced to me. It cost me $71. Where I think it should be priced around the $30-$50 u.S dollars. You should do more reviews ...

I bought this perfume, this is her, I few days ago and oh my gosh it's such a beautiful scent, I fell in love instantly and bought it after just tried it on my wrist, great longevity! I have received many compliments already after wearing it for a couple of days. My boss asked what I was wearing, he thought it smelled really amazing, it smells like Christmas he said 😅

I actually tried this last week but was a bit put of by the very strong and harsh incense note. I didn't pick up any vanilla at all but then again only tried it on paper. Need to revisit after seeing your enthusiasm :) (your partiality considered) Cheers!

+MrKjellqvist the vanilla is definitely more prevalent in This Her! but like you say maybe it will make more of an appearance on the skin with This is Him!

To me, this is him, reminded me of "comme des garçons 2" mainly because of that smell of an old Church just as you mentioned.. its a smell that morphs in a couple of hours to something better than the initial spray (in the store i thought it was just another sweet and generic one).. keep up the good work

Worked for Zadig et Voltaire Dubai Mall and this amazing scent which was originally launched as "Unisex " perfume was our best seller particularly with our GCC clients. 👍🏼❤👍🏼❤👍🏼❤

They are all unisex. Girls should not call it male or femail. There is nothing girly in this is her perfume. It is very in between.

NZ has this already!! (Which is rare, since we're usually months behind new releases.) I liked the chestnut, but the cream + vanilla made it sort of boring for me. Also there's a lot of sandalwood. Very long lasting though.

I checked "this is him" yesterday... and bought it!!! I instantly loved the strong peppery opening and its contrast with vanilla!! Pretty impressed with longevity too (especially on clothes). Oh, did you girls notice the word "rock" written under the cap? Nice stylish detail 😉

I've got a bottle of "This is her", (I'm a man), and I love it. It's very masculine. That sweet nuttiness you describe as "chestnuts" is probably from the Tonka (coumarin) and the creamy woodiness is from the sandalwood, and maybe some vanilla. In my opinion, this is a typical, almost fougere like (with gourmand vibes) mens peppery sandalwood fragrance. When I first smelled this perfume (on a female co-worker) I was quite surprised that she was wearing a mens fragrance. It reminded me of the Black Oak aftershave gel from Benjamin Barber. Sometimes I just can't understand how some designers and perfume houses label certain scents as "for her" or "for him". In this case, "This is her" is definitely more for "him", but that's just my opinion, and I am a conservative, old school type man.

There is no tonka in this. But there is a chestnut note. And I find it quite feminine, I would not like to smell this on a man.

Laurie What do you mean? It’s still on their website🤷🏾‍♀️ Weird. I just bought a 100 ml bottle. The newest one: This Is Love Her, which was just released smells very similar to This Is Her. Both contains Vanilla, and while This Is Her contains: “cedar, and jasmine”, This Love Her contains: “sandalwood and violet, as well as ginger”. It’s like a softer toned down version of This Is Her. Maybe try checking out vanilla, woody scents?

Zadig & Voltaire is not incensy to me, like in an inoffensive way (lalique encre noire or a encre noiré l´extréme) ... this is the tastiest spicy bourbon vanilla designer thing i´ve ever smelled ... for a fractrion of price. ... if it would have been a tom ford fragrance, they would have sold it for about 250 euros, i´m sure of it ...

+Maddi Booth it's a good question, when a lot of male customers nowadays are asking for an edp or even a parfum. We aren't sure why the brand made that decision. We guess maybe they considered it powerful enough as an EDT strength. ...it certainly does have staying power on the skin.
