I thought EC services had to meet certain requirements i.e. 1st and 2nd class seating and some form of catering?

... all units air-conditioned, stopping only at important stations.....etc. Unfortunately it is not always happening.

Why was there any passport check in Dobova? They removed the controls on the highway last year.

Also on the railways, but some countries in the region still perform random check on the border crossing trains. Usually not checking everyone, but those, that look like they migrate somewhere or not looking 'local' enough. They checked me, as I was probably looking suspicious standing outside.

Don't you realize the difference between train stops in Zagreb, Ljubljana, Maribor to Graz... Peasants in CRO and SLO, and when you finally get ti Austria, you can meet austria culture everywhere
