Why was there any passport check in Dobova? They removed the controls on the highway last year.
@Europe-By-Train3 күн бұрын
Also on the railways, but some countries in the region still perform random check on the border crossing trains. Usually not checking everyone, but those, that look like they migrate somewhere or not looking 'local' enough. They checked me, as I was probably looking suspicious standing outside.
I remember traveling by train from Belgrade to Trieste to do shopping quite often; it was back during the '70s. Tens of thousands of people every day were crossing into Italy to shop. In my old passport I had stamps from "Villa Opicina". You wear the 'throwaway clothes' on your way to Trieste that makes travelers resemble the scene from "La Miserable". You put on your new clothes immediately and discard the bag with your old clothes in the near by park; there was a designated place and city sanitary services were hauling away trash throughout the day. At the border the Yugoslav customs were charging import duties on everything you are carrying in your hands - but not on what you were wearing! Some 'black marketeers' put on several pairs of LEVIS jeans over one-another concealed - some do get caught. Those were the fun times!

Enjoying your videos and hope your channel grows bigger, have you thought about recording walking videos too while you’re staying in these cities?
@Europe-By-Train7 күн бұрын
Thank you so much. I haven't thought about walking videos yet. This channel already consumes most of my free time, so for now I am glad that I cope with planning, travelling and video editing along my job. At some places I stay longer, at some 2-4 hours only for interchange and short walk while holding phone with maps not to get lost while enjoying it. I don't watch city walks myself, but I will check some and see, what is required to make a good ones, and consider it for the future. Thank for your suggestion, if it would be manageable, why not 😊

Typically for the modern Croatian Railways; none of the officials noticed that the wheels of the wagon had flat spots on the rim, causing noise throughout the journey, which is quite inconvenient for passengers who wish to sleep during the trip.

Great shots and video! I traveled to the Montenegrin seaside with my parents, traditionally in a sleeping car. These are the same ones from the 80s.

Did you book a single? If so, why couldn't the two upper beds be folded up? It worked on my trip in the Croatian sleeper car from Munich to Zagreb.

Yes, I booked a single. But the train attendant was not really into doing it. From the gestures I understood, that the closed middle bed could then fell off... However, from her overall attitude I understood, she was just a lazy witch.

Perhaps I am wrong, but it seems to me that the Bosnians bought just Talgo trainset and that they do not have a locomotive with commands connected to the train what is necessary to have a complete Talgo train. The locomotive on video seems to me an old Rade Koncar type.

Hello can it be done on same day from Zurich and back or a hotel stay is required for this? How much was the total cost including train tickets but also the cable car? Which month you visited? I think it is great to experience snow in warm season on the top if you get a chance to actually touch the snow?
@Europe-By-Train21 күн бұрын
Hi, yes, it is possible. Zurich to Lucerne is 40m. Lucerne-Pilatus-Lucerne is 3-4 hours relaxed, without hiking around. Total cost depends on how in advance you book the train. Pilatus cable car / train is fixed. Both best to check online - I have links in the video description. I visited at the end of February. Not sure how long the snows stays for. I think they are live web cams on top, so you can check :)

Srbiji nije potrebna neka nova izgradnja pruge Beograd-BAR iz mnogo razloga. Skupa rekonstrukcija pruge,skupe usluge Luke Bar,skupa nabavka novih vagona,veoma skupe usluge ljetovanja turista,nesigurnost srpskih gradjana na boravku u CG. Sta je alternative?. Ulaganje prema luci SOLUN,bilo bi mnogo korisnije I jeftinije za sve ono sto je skupo prema I u CG.

Railjets seem to have always first class carriages closest to the Keleti station's main hall. So when you select the seat from the seating plan on OBB booking page, on the way to Vienna, the first class carriages are at the end of the train. And vice versa. Seating plan also shows the direction during the seat selection.

Thank you for you comment. I am not aware of such website, I use just a map for planning and then research further. I write prices in the subtitles, when it is a fixed price or one difficult to find. On many routes, ticket prices are changing as they are selling out, so there is often no sense of writing them down.

Another nice video. Thank you. Bled is on of my favourite places I've visited (3x). I especially recommend it in Autumn as it is lovely to walk/cycle around the lake and take in the beautiful reds. oranges and yellows of the leaves on the trees surrounding the lake. Also nice that it, and also Lake Bohinj (even less developed, and known amongst foreigners) have no motor boats so it's nice and quiet. The cafe at Lesce Bled Station is also good for a drink and/or a meal, especially if you have a bit of waiting time until, the next bus. I also highly recommend the Vintgar Gorge hike which is not too far away from Podhom Station, the one before Bled Jezero Station.
