Oh dear, ISTER used to be such a great train and had a Hungarian staffed Restaurant Car. The Eastbound service is far better as the Sleeper is prepared by a Hungarian team with more care and attention.

I'm very disappointed that everyone is discovering that Romanian trains, including the first class sleeping cars, are quite... unkempt (not to mention dirty!). Indeed, they are a bit older, but even if they were new, the cleanliness would not be up to the desired parameters. Clearly, the Romanians don't know how to clean!
@Davidnw2010_11 сағат бұрын
The CFR workers are kind of lazy to do so.
@LaszloVondracsek6 сағат бұрын
@@Davidnw2010_ OK, I agree, that's right! But why doesn't CFR fire them, now they have a choice. There are a lot of Asian workers in Romania, much more hardworking, who can now replace the lazy ones.

From 15.12.2024 there will be route change on that train. From Krakow the train will go through Kielce and Radom to Warsaw. However, between Warsaw and Mockava the travel time will be similar (or slightly shorter).

There is a service onboard. The crew sometimes passes by, and orders can be placed. The service differs... sometimes they do offer ordering from the menu, sometimes they just pass by and expect passengers to stop them and ask.

I much prefer trains, but the Flixbus direct between Ljubljana and Trieste takes about an hour less, doesn't require any changes and is absolutely fine and comfortable since it's only around 90 minutes.

What is the difference between 2nd class car with 6 seat cabins and 1st class car with 6 seat cabins. I was traveling in car #13 which was marked as 2nd class and it looked exactly the same as 1st class cars. I had 2nd class ricket.
@Europe-By-Train7 күн бұрын
I had 2nd class ticket on the way back, and I sat in the compartment too. In the first class, there is one compartment less in the carriage, so more legroom in each. Also, the seats are more padded, I think shaped differently and reclining more.
@kolakpatolik18576 күн бұрын
It's not a big difference. Simple, you buy 1st class ticket, when 2nd is crowdy.

One thing I immediately noticed is how accessable unfriendly this train is. No level boarding, no spaces for wheelchairs and even the "accessible" toilets seems far too small. Certainly not a good look for 2024 European train travel. Lastly, a total black mark and thumbs down for this video and its presenter for not making any effort to discuss accessability.
@Europe-By-Train15 күн бұрын
The video footage from both the outside and inside was, I believe, self-explanatory. I apologize if my decision not to state the obvious, or your frustration with RegioJet’s services resulted in a thumbs-down for this video. When planning a trip with accessibility needs, the information shared in any video should not be taken for granted. Such important details should always be confirmed with the transport company in advance, as carriage configurations may vary.

So cool! Unfortunately that station is also associated with the political assassination of Romanias prime minister I G Duca on Dec 29, 1933 by right wing fascists youth. It happened a bit to the left of the main door towards track 1. There’s a plaque there. And the King’s train left also from Sinaia on Dec 30 1948, with King Michael being forced into exile by the Communists and Soviet Union. The smaller building on th right is the 1st station, and the one on the left (as you sit with the back to the tracks) is the Royal Train Station. Also used by Ceausescu, the communist dictator. Lots of history in Sinaia!
