Great video! Another Primo example i just rewatched is Shirahoshi not telling anyone that Hordy killed her mother (even though he could have been stopped way earlier if she had) because she knew it would cause them to harbor hatred toward him and it would contradict her mothers dying wish to disregard her killer. Almost every character good and bad is baffled at this decision, and by her resolve. To most it defies logic, but it is because of the pure and incorruptavle love she and her mother share that she was able to find the strength to keep her promise. NOBODY not even Fisher Tiger (by his own admission) had the strength to stand as firm in their pursuit of true love for all creatures as otohime and I appreciate that shirahoshi understood that and carried it on.

Bro, I want your opinion on this: what do you think of the Gorosei now that Saturn isn't showing too much of his knowledge due to his tactics in egghead, his involvement with Nika, and why he didn't prevent Luffy to master the gomu-gomu fruit, and his lack of knowledge of Kuma potential abilities from buccaneer blood? I mean the gorosei are supposed to be the most impactful, with the most knowledge, and important group in the series. Maybe I'm thinking wrong but don't you think that the fraud is the gorosei instead of Dragon?

appreciate u for watching! the gorosei and imu are all pretty incompetent but i think that serves the narrative. the fact that such an impulsive irrational person has been able to rule the world for so long is a sign that something is deeply wrong in the wrong in the world of one piece.

I feel like what makes the Ace situation at least a little different is that he wasn't killed solely because of his choices. If he was some other Whitebeard commander he likely wouldn't have been publicly executed, but since he was Roger's son they wanted to make an example outta him. Like I get not fighting against the choices you made to get to where you're at, but if you're about to die over something you can't control, I at least gotta try and step in

But he does die over something that he CAN control. Like he was executed cause he's an infamous pirate. Him being Roger's son is more of a bonus and for it to be a reason for them to make it public. But he's going to be killed regardless. Not to mention that even Garp only had just learnt that the Marines decided to make it public cause they knew that he's Roger's son.
