Finally a good hunting video, get so tired of having to fast-forward thru all the heavy-metal and self-adoration bullshit that seems to be on a large percentage of hunting videos these days, they must not have had all the riding stock shod, i use drill-tex on my mules shoes ,never have had a serious wreck, the sheep may have been lightning-struck or an avalanche maybe, well you came out of there with a good bull and some great memories , great video , thanks for sharing.................
@PtarmiganProductions4 жыл бұрын
Thanks you. Stock was shod just had snowed all week and warmed up the last few days so trails were muddy and slick on way out. I’m guessing avalanche but also they had died at separate years as one was way older then the rest. Thanks for watching!

Great video. I can see why Wyoming residents don’t want out of staters in the wilderness areas.
@mattfrick80383 жыл бұрын
It's not wyoming residents, it's wyoming outfitters. Outfitter welfare is all that law is about.
@capt.america62963 жыл бұрын
@@mattfrick8038 yep, I agree. They basically have ownership of the wilderness areas this way. And I would be willing to bet that most Wyoming residents dont have horses and the ability to back pack deep into where the big bulls are in the wilderness, so the outfitters get first crack at all the big bulls so when the average gets a shot at accessible elk on the public land, all the big bulls are gone for the everday Wyoming resident. Its a SCAM. The outfitters make a fortune on public owned animals and public land and give hardly anything back if anything. Outfitters should have to pay a trophy fee for any bull over 300", The everyday Wyoming resident gets hosed by them.

Congrats a great hunt and awesome bull. I’m curious to know if you are left handed and/or left eye dominant. The eye patch was a little unusual . Speaking from experience, I’d suggest shooting left handed with your rifle. With a little practice, shooting that way becomes more natural.
@PtarmiganProductions4 жыл бұрын
Right handed but left eye dominant and can’t close my left eye. Definitely pondered that idea but didn’t have time to relearn how I shoot entirely before this hunt

Who was the outfitter you used ?
@woodchoper144 жыл бұрын
He's a resident of the state so a guide is not required in designated wilderness areas. I am slightly concerned about the near lack of orange used only durring the shot and only on the back of his pack that he was using as a rest that no one would be able to see.
@PtarmiganProductions4 жыл бұрын
Didn’t use an outfitter just was dropped off by one of the guides who was heading into one of the camps back there to help me get back there

Steven D since I met the requirements set by Wyoming game and fish and not another single soul for 10 miles around me I don’t think there was much of a safety hazard. Glad that’s all you took out of the video I hope you start to spend more time practicing your own hunting skills instead of judging people online lol
@woodchoper144 жыл бұрын
@@PtarmiganProductions, Didn't mean to upset you so much - I have no idea how you can possibly derive anything about my hunting "skills" by a simple response on a comment but anyways... I was actually quite impressed by the time and effort you put into that hunt.

@PtarmiganProductions2 жыл бұрын
I wasn’t just “lobbing” bullets lmao. Range finder didn’t work guessed slightly wrong, I have a turret scope so guessing wrong made it off. As you can see barely missed had left and right perfect. Next shot was more of a hurry totally didn’t think of wind and as you can see wind blew it to the right was perfect up and down. Every shot was under 300 yards
