I found this kind of dance on youtube years ago. Ever since I watch these dancers and cannot stop being impressed by this art. The synchronized drummer dancer moves are beyond perfection. Wow, amazement never stops. But this dancer is among the best Ive seen so far.

But I think that lifestyle just may be to hard for them now. They are too westernized. Especially the ones from the big cities. These Zahouli dancers should tour America. You don't have to be African or even have African heritage to want to see them preform. Absolutely amazing! And the costumes are gorgeous.

I know it seems impossible given the near perfection of coordination between them, but I would bet on it. Having watched so many of theses videos, the percussions are similar but very improv. The quick stop and starts are randomly placed. Loved seeing the kids have a go! This fellow with the twin head serpent and yellow face is my favourite. The mask expression is priceless. Calm, humble, joyful.

From what I understand, I could be wrong, this is like jazz. In fact the dancer is like a conductor of the band (mainly drums). They have to adapt to the dance. It is very complicated. To me it seems to be from another planet dancing like this.

There is nothing "wicked" about this culture, which comes from the Cote d'Ivoire. Likewise, there are a lot of misconceptions about voodoo.

I just love the way the dancer move his feet, the steps and drums also the flute goes and moves along. Does the colors mean's their tribe.
