Zaire - Mobutu takes swift control

President Mobutu Sese Seko of Zaire on Thursday (19/12) urged opposition
leaders to work with him to establish within 48 hours a 'crisis government' to deal with a rebel incursion in eastern Zaire.
Only two days after returning from four months of cancer treatment in Europe, Mobutu appeared to be moving swiftly to reaffirm his control over the central African country.
