It’s not the end of the world if you get minors on your driving test, as long as you get 15 or less faults and no serious or dangerous faults. Tish from Auto Social UK passed her driving test with 14 minors first time.

I think it's better for someone to pass with several minors than none at all. The minors are a good reminder that they'll never be a perfect driver but should still try to keep their standards up. On the other hand, someone with no minors may be led to believe that their driving is perfect and let their guard down as the years go by.

Of course, you don’t need to be a perfect driver to pass, as long as you have no serious or dangerous faults, or as long as you don’t keep making the same fault over and over cos that can turn into a serious fault.

My examiner gave me a minor for waiting behind a parked car and letting oncoming vehicles first as I didn't feel safe I would fit in the gaps. He gave me a serious fault because I missed the changing of red to green for 2-3 seconds. He gave me a serious fault for changing lane from right to middle on a busy road when he asked me to do so and apparently I made one car pull back because of my action. Another car didn't beep on me and changed lane safely but still got serious for that 🤦🤦 and yet I've seen more experienced drivers that drove worst than I did during the exam. Only reason I tried to change to the left ASAP was because I thought ahead was a bus lane and if I go there and it was in fact a bus lane I would've failed straight away as well. These examiners can be so unfair over little things.🤦🤦

But as long as you have lessons you can take away from today and apply to your next test, and you don’t give up, then it wasn’t a waste and you can call it a positive experience 😊🙌 Yes place your test on hold or you don’t have a booking at all. But be prepared to have to resit your theory… which isn’t hard AT ALL

None of them seemed to care, and neither did any of the examiners on my test! I’m not entirely sure why... but I know I passed in Morden, and I thought I might have failed because I didn’t signal when I moved off on a couple of busy roads - I didn’t even get minors for it!

That's what Zak said at the end! It's necessary to signal if theres anyone that could benefit from it. There are a lot of parked cars and things going on on the road. People might be in the cars or pedestrians walking around. If you're in London its never not necessary to signal really!

If a speed sign is in a red circle it’s a legal requirement. It looks like Lewisham haven’t completed the full package of the speed reduction because there should also be repeater signs in a 20 limit. but you’d go with the sign in red 😊

Hey good question! You can park on any side of the road where it’s safe to park, even on main roads. On your test the examiner might get you to park on the right as a manoeuvre. And we’re on the kerb because the parking box is marked that way to give more space on the road for cars 😊

You need to drive to the speed of the road. If it's a 30 road with little hazards you need to drive at 30 or you'll get marked down for going too slowly. If its a 30 road and there's loads of hazards you need to drive at an appropriate speed to deal with whats on the road.

Interesting that you're a driving instructor. I've seen the short on your channel and there's no incorrect way to steer. As long as he's comfortable and in control of the car that's all the examiner is looking for. I've never had anyone marked down for not pushing and pulling or crossing arms. It's a CAT B test not an advanced driving qualification....

@@DrivingSchoolTV hmmm, I am going to have to disagree with you there. If you are needing to change gears quickly it will definitely be uncomfortable and I would say unsafe in some cases. For example, imagine having to go into 5th gear on the motorway using this technique. Also, another thing that should be pointed out is that the driver keeps looking at the gear stick when changing gears from time to time which I think is unnecessary as gear numbers don't really change and eyes should be kept on the road. But that is just my opinion

If anyone is not sure about the speed on that main road look into any of the side roads passed Lewisham hospital on the way to Catford! On the floor it says 20 entering and exiting the road! Be careful and look for the clues!
