Larry was quickly groomed to be a replacement for label mate Little Richard, who abruptly quit his career in 1957 to go into ministry. As a result, most if not all the musicians you heard on Richard's classic tracks were on Larry's. Most notable would be the drummer, Earl Palmer, a New Orleans legend whose career spanned the late 40s until a couple years before his death in 2008. Seriously, look up Earl Palmer, and the amount of legendary sessions he played on will blow your mind.
