I saw them on tour. They did their Pride and Glory set then came back out and played classic Black Sabbath for 2 hours. It was a food drive in OKC. It was very cool!

This was awesome. I've been a fan of Zakk since the 80's. Dude hasn't changed at all, such a genuine and wholesome man. It never gets old listening to his magical fills, stupid fast but also knows when to not go over the top but heavy and precise fast when it matters.

I was lucky enough to meet Zakk. Coolest dude ever. Killer interview and lesson! \m/

Zakk is a unique dude..but you will never find a more humble 'rock star'. He knows how good he is...but unlike the majority of stars, he has been able to keep both feet and his ego firmly planted on the ground. It is very refreshing. He wants to be 'just one of the guys'. I have always dug that about him.

I’ve always loved Zakk’s playing and his sense of humour, he’s just such a great dude and someone you’d absolutely love to hang out with (plus I share a birthday with him, so that’s also one reason why I like him)

This was great! I actually remember when Zakk got with Ozzy, and though I was a huge Randy and Jake fan, I instantly loved Zakk's playing! such a cool guy too

In terms of Zakk's pick hand position: this is to allow him to alternate pick lines and not have his pick stuck between strings so that his transition from string to string is efficient. We all know its the crossing of strings that is difficult. Check out Troy Grady's excellent videos on this, particularly downward pick slanting/upstroke escape.

I saw Zakk the day before Ozzys first No More Tours Tour in 92 at the Miami arena which is no longer there , he play a clinic at a music store in North Miami called Ace Music. I was walking in to get strings and I hear Allman Brothers music and I look where it’s coming for and it’s Zakk wailing away and he even sang I was blown away on how versatile he was, he plaid it all and he was all smiles and having a blast. It’s a memory that I’ll never forget and of course the next night with Ozzy was awesome he was running all over the place and killing it! Thanks Chris for this been a huge fan of Zakk and definitely a big fan of yours.

It’s crazy to me how much Zakk Wylde sounds like himself in his kitchen playing a practice amp barely loud enough to hear over his strings.

Great talk! What a humble dude. Man I thought Miracle Man was tuned waay down given how crazy Zakk's vibrato is but nope, just e flat. Incredible. Thanks for bringing up the role of the SD-1. People always look at the JCM 800 as some kind of holy grail without mentioning the role a distortion pedal plays ( or the ge-7!). Would be super cool to query people's amp and pedal settings in the next video. At the moment I've got my AC30 dialed to some settings I saw on Shifty's amp in a rig run down. Super geeky and fun to grab those settings at home.

My band toured with DamagePlan in 2004. At the end of the tour, I gave Dime my 71 Les Paul Recording, which he wanted to give Zakk for Christmas. Unfortunately Dime was killed before Christmas and never gave Zakk the guitar. Dime also wanted to give me a custom Dimebag guitar which also unfortunately never happened. It's been 20 years but I would love to know whatever happened to my old guitar.

So one thing I’m curious about. Zakk said he used the jcm 800 and the boss sd1 but at the time was he not using a metaltronix amp and some sort of rack unit? Or was he just endorsed by those?

I likey Ms.Cleaver or Mrs.Cleaves or possibly Sir-Cleaver-son preferred when we are introduced 🤪. If there's a scratch and dent damaged by shipping to give a recently broke parent and 43y/o tradesman. This is 100% due to our agreement. We will give our caring,hard-working young adults the tools they need to further succeed in school and work and life goals they conquered. Now the extra scratch that I would use to squeal Mrs. Cleaver's pinch harmonics while screaming a through a Dimmed Friedmans knobbs I wish I twist. Merry Shifty X-Mass

Would love to have someone’s help with this - from a few things I’ve read, Zakk HATES Rush. When Shifty mentioned Subdivisions I wasn’t shocked that Zakk just had a “meh” reaction (yes I know he said he loves the album). I assume he hates Rush cause it’s prog? Because Alex Lifeson is an outstanding player, I’m surprised Zakk never talks about him Just rambling!
