Nice lesson, I watch as many of your lessons (Dave Nassie) as I can, your alternate picking is impressive (this lesson and others) I wouldn't have thought a guy who played in a punk band could shred like that, I mean you don't listen to a NOFX etc album and expect crazy shredding, you're the man!

Great lesson, great player. He's picking that B on the second string w/ an upstroke, though. He's not pulling it off. That's why it sounds so crisp. It def sounds nice the way he does it.

btw, you are picking the bent notes right?
@Futureguitarist1511 жыл бұрын
So with the double string bends. When you pick it are the strings basically touching under your finger? Or do you keep the standard distance between the two? I find it really hard to do that but I know there can be tuning problems seeing as the above string isn't bending as far Up to pitch, but with the heavy distortion and the aggressive sound would the tuning really matter on those chords? Thanks

@artistled I know he uses a Marshall (JCM 800 i think). Wah wah(often), chorus(some times, Reverb, (often the neck pickup on the guitar). I guess alot of treble and some mids, bas. He also uses his overdrive pedal which works more like a booster(i have one, its great). something like that.

Q: How does Zakk/you position your right hand so you can mute the 1st and 2nd strings whilst doing fast alternate picking?
@majav15mg13 жыл бұрын
You should've focused more in the vibrato thing since it is just as important as anything else and might take just as much practice to get it. Anyway nice vid. Makes me miss playing the e-guitar!

@rampage22255513 жыл бұрын
@bullshitproof the bridge pickup might be an 81 since the logo is yellow, but the neck pickup is definitely an 89 or 81tw since the logo is orange. Most likely an 89. The logo on an 85 is yellow. Also the stock pickups on most new hellraisers are 81tw/89

No way I can play that fast..yet. But why the hell are people complaining about him doing so. It's not like he doesn't clearly explain what he is doing..and no he is not playing random notes at all, it is a fairly simple lick that anyone who has been playing for some years can recognize..If this is too complicated for you, though I don't see why a 4 note lick should be, there are plenty of videos for beginners. He is a great teacher in my opinion, and a great inspiration.
