After 'No more tears' Ozzy decided to retire from tours, so Zakk starts to jam with the guys from Pride & Glory a little, doing some early 70's like songs, and after that he gets a call from Duff, Axl and Slash to jam with Guns n Roses and maybe even join the band, (while he was working with Ozzy in Ozzmosis), things weren't going well between the guys in Guns and at the time, Ozzy was retired from tours, so Zakk writes his solo album 'Book of Shadows' while waiting for Guns n Roses or Ozzy to call him. Ozzy decides to reunite with Black Sabbath and they make the Reunion album and at the same time Guns n Roses collapses, Zakk feels totally lost in this world and while in a hotel room, he puts all his sadness and frustration into a song called 'Spoke in the wheel', on this day, Black Label Society was born.

At one of the Ozzfests Ozzy was sick and couldn’t come out for all the songs - Zakk filled the time by running around for 20 minutes playing these speed riffs - one of the most amazing things I’ve seen in a concert.
@elliot14052 жыл бұрын
Yup. I remember that one. Ozzy had a chest cold. One of the coolest things I’ve ever seen live. He’d sing like one verse/chorus and then the band would just jam out the rest of the song by themselves. Cool to see someone else who saw that!

In the 90's when you went to a guitar shop and asked to try a guitar, the assistant would play something like that 1:21 intro before handing you the guitar

At least I wasn't the only one who experienced this public shame. Who would even attempt to noodle on the guitar as a kid after hearing the tech at the music store shred and just hand you the instrument?
