He is just not a tapper.. one reason he isnt able to reproduce some of the great Chinese Democracy song solos... didnt listen to those from a recent tour but he really more or less destroyed some of the solos when the reunion tour started...even those that were more like his blues like play style..he tried to add too much and it didnt fit anymore..... but it is what it is he still is a great guitar player..

Honestly ... It was TOO scientific. There was nothing unique or interesting about his version, and it was so clean that it felt robotic. I enjoy Buckethead at times, but his biggest issue by far is that, for all his external craziness, his playing always feels clinical and a bit empty.

I do think he Buckethead was the best. But Slash, on principle, doesn't use tapping- he could, but he won't. and I find his interpretation of this solo the most interesting.

Interesting. None of them got it 100% down. Buckethead almost had it, but didn’t nail the legato run at the end. Ron also close but didn’t nail the finish.

I think they all wanted their own signature to be on it somwhere rather that simply reproduce the solo from the record. But Slash being too proud to do any tapping was very weak.

My friend/old bandmate played with Buckethead very early on, and he said that he spent hours each day just practicing scales and exercises because he wanted to be the fastest guitarist ever. I think he succeeded!
